Sa mga brand new cars sold today ano sa palagay niyo ay ang may pinakamataas na resale value?

Parang Land Cruiser at mga Honda. Ung iba mataas ang value pero walang bumibili![]()
The SiR's legendary resale is starting to soften. Mura na kasi ang secondhand Ford Lynx RS, and the availability of the Ford Lynx RS, Honda Civic 2.0 and Mazda3 2.0R on the used market is pushing the SiR's resale value down.
The Miata is still high because there's not much market for it, and no new Miatas.
Ang Landcruiser na LC80, sobrang taas pa rin. Bad trip, gusto ko pa naman bilhin yung sa tito ko...
Kung gusto niyo grabeng resale value, Volkswagen Beetle na 1967... if you calculate its resale value by percentage per year, dapat negative na yung price... pero meron pa ring gumagamit nito...![]()
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
hondas and toyotas enjoy a considerable premium in the 2nd hand market. it's most probably due to the local market's impression of the brand.

Honda Civic Sir is pushing 10 years old na pero grabe pa din resale value nito ha. Boy racers still look at this car as the ultimatemachine kaya grabe pa din demand. Lynx RS na siguro papalit dito resale value wise.
Same with the EG Honda Hatchback. formerly a peoples car bought in 1992 for 180k and sold last 2002 for 180K! 10 years old car with 0% depreciation. remarkable. The Honda Civic Sir is following this trend although prices are going down.
Convertibles will always command a higher resale value here in the phil even if people think its impractical.
Diesel pickups usually get higher resale.
Mercedes Benz will always command a higher resale value, same with a porsche.
I think pinoy perspective on a car will detail its resale value. just look at Nissan. They have nice cars but resale is very low.
Predicted Future resale champions will be:
-Toyota Fortuner (diesel variant only)
-Toyota Landcruisers/ prado (diesel variants)
-Honda Jazz / Suzuki Swift - both will have higher resale, the jazz 1.3 because of its fuel economy and a honda, the swift because there will be a future demand for this cute car but not enough of them are being sold in the second hand market.
-Diesel pick-ups
-European Diesel Sedans ( BMW 520d/530d, audi A6 diesel, MB CDI )
-limited edition release sports car like the Mitsu Eclipse/Nissan 200sx/mazda miata/ nissan 350z - the only stumbling block for these cars is the importation of converted models that brought their price lower.
VW beetle - nabili dati namin ng 15k. ngayon tinatawaran na ng 80k. kahit yung mga running condition na pagawain body kung mga 35k lang pumepresyo pa rin ngayon.
Honda maganda rin presyo. i have a 96 honda before. nabili ko ng 250K after 3 years binenta ko. 250k pa din.
honda and toyota for me. i think euro cars have the most depreciation. imagine an E-class benz or a BMW retailing for 3.+M selling on the 2nd hand market for 1.+M after 4-5 years? that's 1.+M in depreciation!
Dapat kasi klaro kung absolute value or kung purchase price less resale. Kung yung former kasi, palagay ko out na lahat ng mamahalin pero kung absolute value, malamang sila ang top. Kung purchase price less resale naman, among the determinants would be: preceived reliability, wide availability of cheap after-market parts, tsaka siyempre supply.
VW Beetle ... long time ago brand new nasa 15k to 20k ...ngayon nasa P100k na. Some as high as P200k pa.
One time our VW beetle naka park sa Alabang Town Center for almost the whole day, when I came back for it may mga calling cards nakasingit sa wiper asking if Im planning to sell the car. Talagang in demand pa.
You also have to consider currency fluctuation and price fluctuation.
The CRV benefits from price fluctuation... it's because it got more expensive after the government closed the tax-loophole for the AUV-class CRV that secondhand prices are based on the higher price of newer models.
The Picanto also benefits, being sold cheap early on, then getting more and more expensive.
The Everest suffers from it. Because Ford offered huge incentives for remaindered stock of the old one, older Everests bought at higher prices suffered a massive price drop.
RE: European cars... in terms of absolute money lost to depreciation, it's high, yes, but you have to look at currency-adjusted percentages, not absolutes.
