Hi mga ka tsikot! I would like to ask you guys for tips and advices. Recently my daily driver had an issue. (broke the camshaft) and I have this two option for it. An engine swap or buy another car. I was inclined on the engine swap at first but upon thinking over and over again. Ayun, I decided na ibenta na yung daily driver to after ko mapagawa at kumuha ng second hand or rebuild or restored daily driver. At since yung budget namin is just at 230k i was thinking of getting a car within that range pero si airmats gusto niya raw nun multicab van since madali raw sakyan. Taking this in consideration, I was amazed what this little thing could do. it really can take a beating which I found it nice and parts are abundant here in Cavite. So its either a car or a multicab van yung choice namin. Ang tanong ko, if would to buy a multicab, saan ako makakabili nung rebuild na ng maayos? I heard Rusco do that stuffs pero a friend suggest me to buy at Exocab in Fairview. Since I have no experience in buying this surplus cars, ano ba maipapayo ninyo sa akin? TIA and peace ya'll!

if the camshaft is all that got broken, i suggest you have it repaired na lang.
    btw, a... multicab?? (my apologies.)
your budget can afford other possibilities, including one having four doors and a reliable engine and aircon.. or do you really need a multicab?

since it is fixed, yun na lang din muna.
sayang naman kung pagkatapos mo ipagawa, ibebenta mo.... so puro expenses yan on your part. pagawa, tapos bili. tapos yung mabibili mo, sure ako may ipapagawa ka din dun.

I know the budget can afford other cars pero hirap na rin kasi sumakay at bumaba si airmats sa kotse. not like a van or a kei van na medyo "senior friendly" sa pag sakay. wala naman kaming budget to buy a van and ito lang yung nasa price range namin.

The thing is the engine is showing its old age na even if ingat na ingat ako, it does break down from time to time. Puro sakit na ng ulo at tingin ko naman if yung kei van na rebuild yung bibilin ko, pwede na pang city driving na yun.

I was also thinking of the Suzuki Alto. Seems okay naman siya since I only need a car na it will get me from point A to point B at brand new pa. Yung kulang pwede ko na lang mai utang muna.

    Toyota Lite Ace, local.

Bigger than those kei vans, parts are numerous, just make sure you buy a unit in top condition.

Ano ba ang sasakyan mo ngayon? Are you really looking to dispose it? Medyo sayang din kasi, ipapaayos mo tapos ibebenta mo.

With 230k, you can get a Kia Pregio. Definitely much, MUCH better than a Multicab. You can get one for around 200k and allocate the 30k for any possible repairs or modifications. The Pregio is very "matanda-friendly". I should know. When our great grandmother was still alive, she loved it!

i'll note that one up. since lite ace quite nice also at 5k lang engine so matipid sa gas pa rin.

    *GTi

it's an owner type jeep. medyo mahirap na rin mag hanap ng parts ng 4g62b sirius engine kasi not like the saturn which is meron meron pa. kaya rin i opted for multicab kasi it can take a beating at even on rainy days na di ko na need bumaba at mag lagay ng trapal. At matipid pa sa gas then yun nga, its "senior friendly."

I see. So kahit papano, kind of an upgrade parin ang Multicab. Yun nga lang, sapat na ba sayo ang power ng Multicab? 1.0L engine na ang pinakamalaki. I'd suggest you get a diesel.

Si ts yung nabiyak na camshaft for the 2nd time and thinking of swapping the engine to a 4d56 for his otj..

If you will get a multicab get the scrum type or yung loaf van with 2 sliding doors and rear engine... we have one na efi engine all power matibay at madami parts kahit brand new

Pwede din yun big eye na multicab yung may nguso na mid engine

660cc lang yung mga imported na multicab.. malakas na din due to short gearing.. kaya pumanik ng baguio nyan
