As the title suggests, I plan on getting my first car and super confused which to choose. Considerations are FC and riding comfort. Laguna-Makati-Laguna ang daily route. It's going to be my car pero malamang madalas din sakay ang parents and sister ko to give our Innova a chance to rest naman.

So I've narrowed down my choices to the following (automatic):

    1. Honda City CVT or VX - ok na sana ako sa CVT kaso super bare tingnan ng dashboard and wala pang fog lamp.
    2. Toyota Vios - between Honda CVT and Vios 1.3 parang mas equipped ang 1.3. kaso matagtag daw siya and may tumutunog.
    3. Kia Rio - malakas ba talaga konsumo sa gas?
    4. Mirage G4 GLS - or pag inatake ng kakuriputan, GLX.

I know magkakaiba sila ng price range pero kasi I plan to use the car for a loooong time naman so im willing to spend a little more. if kelangan. pero hanggang sub-compact lang ang kaya ko. if mas makakatipid ok din.

    Salamat ng marami.

    First car?

    Toyota Vios.

Get the 1.5 if you can, but a 1.3 matic is okay too.

Go for the honda city vx more comfortable than are other cars in its class
auto climate, reverse camera, bigger legroom than othe compact cars
    and 1.5l is fuel efficient
vios is to common para maiba nman
mirage its a nice car fully loaded fo its price unlike the vios your parents may find it cramped in the passenger seat

Lancer Ex GLX MT. With discounts, 745k na lang.

Though it has been in the market for 6-7 years na.

Toyota Yaris 1.3AT, a little cheaper than the Vios, pero mukhang mas maporma.

Problema kasi sa mga nagsasabi na mas mahal kagad magmaintain ng diesel, walang gumagawa ng cost-benefit analysis.

What's up with people just claiming whatever without numbers to back it up.

Diba modern diesel engines can take fully synthetic oils that can extend COI to 10000kms?

Kaya nga ako crdi na lahat rides ko. Walang habol ang gasoline engine pag dating sa fuel economy. Plus that bonus torque, singitan na lang sa traffic lamang na lamang ka.

accent crdi na. Sundin mo lang yung 5000km maintenance schedule and not the 3 months, and after the 20,000 km pms junk the warranty and get your pms done by reputable shops outside the casa. Basta huwag rapide ha.

If comfort is a major consideration, Honda City is it. Ok choice ang Accent but it's not the best during long driving. From my experience between the two, City is it.

Another way to look at the price premium of the Accent over other subcompacts is that it has much more useable performance.

The torque of the Accent diesel is much more fun than the City that takes forever (okay not forever, just until 5000 rpm) to have satisfying pull.

yes pms ng accent is 1-2k more than the city pero you'll feel that twice a year. unlike the city na every week ramdam mo gastos everytime na magpagas ka vs. the accent na twice a month

Well if you don't mind needing to go over 3000 rpm just to go over a little hump, yeah why not.

Salamat uli sa lahat ng suggestions/inputs/comments lalo na sa gas-diesel question ko. ang hirap mag-decide which to choose. ang sure palang is that automatic ang kukunin ko since MT na yung family car namin and ayoko mag-drive ng MT daily with the traffic.

Same observation by my wife when she drove her friend's 1.3 city. She's asking parang ang hina humatak. Need pa daw nya diinanan maigi yung gas pedal. Hahatak lang pag galit na ang makina.

I told her ganun yata talaga ang behavior ng engine ng honda (high revving).

To temper expectations, our old Civic EK 1.6 wasn't like this (well, granted exagg/joke yung 3k rpm :P) and I'm thinking newer hondas now have a lot more low end torque than the older models.

With that said, if you often seat people at the back, my personal opinion is City > Vios > Mirage

Fuel Consumption wise, I'd think it will be Mirage (courtesy of the 3 cyl engine) > Vios > City.

Overall, I might just go with the Vios. There's a reason why there are hundreds of these cars in Manila.

Runner up for me: City. Feels a little more upscale than a subcompact car, if you can swallow the price difference.

**Note: I'm just not a big fan on current level quality of Korean cars and level of service for dealerships at this point.
