Help Needed: Registration/Transfer of Ownership

Hi po, I just bought a car from a friend. papatransfer of ownership ko po saken, pero ang problem I don't know where to start.

Though nakita ko na sa LTO site ung requirements, hindi ko lam kung saan kukuha nung highway patrol clearance at kung saan ang LTO main?

Magkano po kaya ang aabutin nun? Wala po kasi akong alam eh. Newbie talaga.

Meron po bang ibang pwedeng maglakad nun? aka, fixers? Legit po ba un? Magkano kaya ang aabutin nun? Hindi ren ako makapunta sa LTO with the car kase student permit pa ako, baka mahuli pa ako. Kasi whenever I drive, meron akong kasamang licensed driver, though hindi cya available pag umaga.

btw, meron na akong nakita dito sa site about car registrations, pero masyado nang matagal 2003 pa ung mga threads, baka hindi na applicable that's why i started this thread.

bro first of all, NEVER deal with FIXERS. usually pinapatungan nila ng mataas yung gastos, plus hindi ka pa sigurado sa mga ginagawa nila sa papers ng auto mo.

you can get the TMG (Traffic Management Group) clearance sa Rizal Provincial Capitol "Kapitolyo", Pasig. Pay P300 for the clearance, tapos macro-etch nila yung chassis number ng auto para malaman kung tampered or hindi. then after 3 working days, makukuha mo na yung TMG clearance. (bring the original deed of sale, original certificate of registration (CR) and latest official receipt (OR), as well as valid ID mo at ng seller. (bring photocopies na din) you also have to provide your TIN number, as well as the seller's.

after you get the clearance, punta ka sa LTO district office kung saan naka register yung auto. (nakalagay yun sa CR ng auto mo). bring the original deed of sale, original CR and latest OR, Certificate of Cover ng TPL (third party liability) insurance. stencil nila yung auto, then pay for P180 yata, basta hindi lalampas ng P250 yung transfer of ownership fee. afterwards, makukuha mo na yung new certificate of registration under your name.

bro i suggest isama mo yung driver mo pag lakad ng transfer. LTO main (diliman) is in East Avenue, Quezon City.

Once ko pa lang nagawa ang paglakad ng Transfer or Ownership pero madali lang kasi taga Las Pinas din yung nabilhan ko. Etong second car ko taga QC kaya pinalakad ko na lang. okay naman. Nagdagdag lang ako ng 1 thousand nakasave pa ako sa Vacation Leave, pagod at oras.
