Good day sirs/maams! I'm just a newbie here and we're planning to buy another car which my father prefers to be a brand new one. Hindi naman sa mahangin but because it will be their gift for me coz' I passed the Nursing Board Exam and got and 80% average.

Our first car is a Toyota Fortuner 2.5 A/T which they bought brand new and which I also learned to drive.

So their budget for me is not more than 1.2M, and I think they will pay it installment.

Here are my choices for that budget:
    CHEVROLET CRUZE
    FORD ESCAPE
    FORD FOCUS

    HONDA CITY
    HONDA CR-V
    HONDA CIVIC
    HONDA JAZZ

    HYUNDAI TUCSON

    KIA SOUL
    MAZDA 2
    MAZDA 3

(PLEASE HELP ME IN TERMS OF):
    -APPEARANCE
    -COMFORT
    -PERFORMANCE
    -VALUE
    -RELIABILITY

Hoping for your opinions/ suggestions! Thanks TSIKOT PHILIPPINES in ADVANCE!

Your choices are all different animals.

What will you be using the car for? Also, will you be paying for the gas and the maintenance? This should slim that list down.xD

Typically, people choose a subcompact (or a diesel vehicle) for cheap maintenance and excellent Fuel Economy. If they need space, they go for a compact like the Cruze, Civic, or Mazda 3. If they need even bigger space, an SUV fits the bill.

If you're using the car as a personal car and want a keeper, buy the Honda Jazz. Roomy, comfortable and very useful for a young person just starting to work.

Within your budget, the most brand new metal you can get for your money is the CR-V. Huge back seat, large cargo area, good fuel econoy for a crossover. The Tucson is also worth a look, it rides and drives better than the CR-V and has decent space.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    for me;

    Cruze, Focus, Tucson.

actually if you are not a keeper (will sell the car within 5 years of use) then buy any of the Honda in the list you stated above because of their ridiculous high resale value.

Sir, ill be using it going to hospital where I will be volunteering, tapos pag may lakad, mga nursing conferences, forums or discussions, trainings, which is within the city din. Then occassionally pumupunta kami ng province together with tropa na nakiki-joyride.

Sa gas no problem for me, sa maintenance siguro as long as volunteer pa lang ako, sila erpat muna bahala. LOL!

Minsan naman dinadala ko drum set ko sa province to jam with my cousins, so need ko din ang magandang cargo space.

    THANKS sa reply sir!

Yup, ill be using it as my personal car sir, hindi pa rin talaga ako makadecide what to buy e. Hehe!

LOL!

    Thanks sir!

    Hi Arvie1,

Forgive me for being frank but you're a typical youngster na di pa alam ano ang gusto. Pero since you want to listen to people's experience it makes you a better youngster. Anyway here is my take on this:

You don't need another SUV may Fortuner na kayo eh. Kung hospital at ibang self errands mo lang get a Jazz. It is sleek, uso, at reliable being a Honda (meron kasi ako Civic 10 years na ayos pa rin). Pero kahit ano pa ang gusto mo better stick to a sedan, not an SUV. For a young guy like you mas maganda dalhin ang sedan kaysa SUV. Mark my words, ganyan din ako dati.

Kung makapili kana ng two options, research mo sa mga blogs basahin mo advantages and dis-advantages. Test drive mo for final testing then decide from there. The car should answer your needs or will fit the use you want.

(In the course of doing this and you decide to level up to a BMW then on your budget you can buy a good 2005 2nd hand 3 series. Iba pag BMW alam mo na siguro yan. Or if you can wait for 5 more years at dagdagan mo budget mo to buy a brand new one then it is the best. Believe me I waited for 3 years in order to buy my new BMW and now it is a sweet and heavenly feeling. But I bet my BMW - that you cannot wait for 5 more years, di ba??? So for now, make the most of what you have and consider our opinions.

I hope this helps. Again forgive my harsh words, if there's any.

Nope sir, this present model? Mukha ngang worth wait if yung upcoming, pero siguro sa price magkakatalo.

And the 16" rims look to small.
    Thanks for the reply sir!

Yes sir, I admit, I only know the basics when it comes to automobile, call me a "Youngster", no offense, and maybe if I got one already, I want to grow. That's the reason I want to hear from you guys some info's, pros and cons, so I can decide which one to buy.

Wow! You impressed me a lot sir, for me to choose a compact car rather than SUV. Haha! Haha!

I'm not that patient when it comes to presents/gifts sir e, and besides, hindi ko kaya budget ng BMW, yup I know that BMW's are prestige when it comes to automobile pero talagang stick ako sa budget na pang brand new talaga sir, lalo na hindi ako ganoon karunong kumilatis ng sakyan, music instruments oo pa, pero sa auto, basic lang talaga AS IN.:bwahaha:

Ill consider your opinion sir! No offense with me, kaya nga po I need advices. Thanks sir! Need to hear more from you.

mabuti naman open-minded ka. anyway since RN kana (that means may laman ang ulo mo dahil nakapasa ka sa board exam hehehe) kaya mo rin ma research ng mga kotse. ilang araw pa o linggo malalaman mo na kung ano talaga ang fit para sayo. alam ko kaya mo yan at mabuti nga nag research ka para mas mabilis mo malaman ang mga bagay-bagay about cars. next time ikaw naman ang tutulong sa mga newbie (ganun talaga ang buhay). so keep it up and goodluck.

just a suggestion though, isulat mo sa papel ang mga choices mo then lagyan mo ng features na gusto mo at yong di mo gusto. tempting isulat sa laptop pero mas ok pa rin sa papel dahil madali mong matingnan at maisulat mo agad ang mga notes mo about a particular car. then one day you will see na may lilitaw don sa mga choices mo. kung talagang this is for keeps you must give time to think about it. dapat di ka magsisi sa hinaharap.

Ako bata pa, but I like SUVs very much. Not because it looks bigtime. I'm after the function and versatility.

I suggest i-test drive mo yung mga gusto mo. Then pakiramdaman mo bawat isa. Kahit SUV pa yan o sedan o hatch o whatever.

*my_bmw: Nakakatuwa na meron tsikoteers like you. Ok na ok yung comments mo.

Kapag maliit ang gusto, Honda Jazz 1.5. Practical, matipid, mabilis.
