my 2005 D4d is almost 100K now. and i haven't changed anything at all in the engine bay, except for the air cleaner element, that damned fuel filter, a couple of headlight bulbs, the battery (2x na), and of course, the oil.
when should the glow plug be changed?

Cost was 70k to replace the whole part. nabarahan dahil sa free diesel na binigay sa kanya.

Good thing po well maintained po yun innova nyo sir.

If you encounter hard starting maybe the glow plug needs to be replaced. There's no time interval for that AFAIK.

diesels do not have distributor, hi tension cables, sparking plugs.
fuel expenses are also cheaper by, say, 25 %.
so why is diesel vehicle maintenance more expensive than its gasoline counterpart?

kawawa naman siya... but was that the only possible solution? or is it because he chose to believe the shop... hook, line and sinker..?

so is this a common enough occurence? or is it one isolated example?
what if i narrate to you the story of my colleague's vvti block head that had to be changed because the engine overheated, the head gasket blew, and the head warped? will you avoid vvtis altogether?

let's talk about normal wear and tear... disasters are patent to neither diesel or gas...

    ah... my age shows.
so how much is this ignition coil-cum-sparkplug assembly?

Monthly mileage ko is around 400 km, fuel is around 2.5k per month.

Parts and maintenance almost the same lang yan, sa VVTi fuel filter costs PhP 3k, pero pagpapalit mo after 80k km, isasabay mo baba ng fuel tank and replace the parts inside also. So baka abutin ka mga 6k more or less.

And totoo mahal fuel pump ng diesel sa VVTi it will cost you 9k sa Toyorama and that is OEM.

Yung usapan naman is normal wear and tear, yung fuel pump di normal na masira yan, may mga 4JA1, kalahating milyon na tinakbo wala issue sa fuel pump.
