February 26th, 2009 10:53 PM #1Hi All,
I'm new here.
I had just bought a second hand car 2weeks ago and Im planning to transfer the ownership to my name and renew the registration on July (plate# ends in "7"). I have all the necessary documents though I have some inquiry on emission tests.
1. Is emission test certificate required for LTO change of ownership process?
2. Does LTO also conduct emission test?
3. How much does emission test cost?
Can anybody advise me on these?
Thanks in advance!

1. Changing of ownership doesn't require an emission test certificate.
2. The LTO doesn't conduct emission tests, it gives accreditations to emission testing centers.
3. An emission test for private vehicles cost P350.00 (or was it P400.00?)

1.0 If i can not register it on time this year, maybe one month late, will there be a penalty, and how much?
2.0 why is it that last year when i had it registered at LTO near aurora Boulevard, emission test was not required.
Thank you very much.
