DPF replacement (as in the whole metal assembly is in the tune of 100k-150k ($15k) as much as diesel turbo replacement ), i can live with that, if and when it happens. i always floor my diesels whenever I have a chance on the road.

Ive already dismantled a Starex GRX Turbo and sent it Central Diesel. I already cleaned by Santa Fe EGR as well as my intercooler tubes. I can safely say that I know the diesel setup in the engine bay, ngaun may DPF, itÂ’s just dedicated focus attention , sooner or later it will be fixed or will present a solution. i came from a problematic V6 explorer that I dismantled haggang fuel injecors. Experiencing that for like 3 months back and forth , sa web, sa banawe, di na ako natatakot gano.

You see itÂ’s easy when you are just dealing with one type of engine or technology , unlike if you have gasoline and diesel or sedan and suv. Mas nakakalito pa Yun

Ngsun lets discuss the electric fans in your gasoline suvs or cars. ItÂ’s a silent killer. Not all fans even if it is OeM , operate the same with the kind of congestion, humidity and elements that we have here. Cooling is a very important aspect in cars whether engine cooling or cabin cooling.

So pano na trav, how will you know kung hinde na optimum RPM ang fans ng engines nyo, unlike in diesel PPVS, constant consisten yun because it is mechanical not electrical

Most of the full size suvs and the like of cuvs in middle east are gas powered... maybe it’s not the energy but the price of gasoline sold in our country makes it harder to sell...

Sa US, mas mura gas kaysa diesel. Mas mura pa gas doon kaysa dito sa atin.

It’s a useful small crossover, better than an Ecosport. However, the FXT is much better. If I have to choose which one has to go in place of a new vehicle, the ASX will have to be it.

I just bought a 2019 Camry. We currently have a 2013 Rogue crossover. The wife wants to eventually replace the Rogue with a Sienna minivan. So, we'll be abandoning crossovers and going back to more practical vehicles. Here where I am, I'm not too concerned about gas mileage. In fact, I was satisfied with the combined 21 mpg of my old V6 Sonata.

EV can be useful where I am. But, the relative scarcity of charging points means traveling with a tight schedule and limited deviations from the planned route. Not practical for us, especially with the wife being wishy-washy and changing plans on a whim.

probably cause sedans are great starter car due to price.
age group 20 to mid 30's are still considered starting and may not have high enough budget.

Compacts are not that affordable anymore and subcompacts are also near the 1M price range. For a family of 4, an Altis or Civic is still a good overall car.

4 seaters, I think most cars can seat 4 comfortably naman. even the wigo can do this. but the problem with these hatches is that they don't have space for the luggage in case I want to go to acuatico in batangas for 3 nights. Damn they're sold out

checking Honda, Toyota, and Chev USA where the survey was made, it looks like starter cars are the typical sedans / hatch.

Id get a nice subcompact hatchback like the Jazz anyday. Thats my ultimate jack of all trades car (for my needs) that still can be fun to drive. Close enough to a sedan. At least it isnt a CUV or PPV.

actually it's all about product positioning. why cannibalize your crossover sales by offering a high-ground clearance econo-sedan? that's the reason why they're not being built. it takes very little metal to increase the ground clearance by just a little bit

but actually what the average buyer needs is a cheap sedan w/ decent ground clearance, w/ a big trunk opening to be able to your swallow stuff. but of course this concept is never gonna be built
In the US, Honda has a product offering that kind of meets such a requirement - the Accord Crosstour. It's a niche product of sorts but more people would opt for the CRV or Pilot instead.

BMW also has the X4 that looks like a sedan on stilts.

AWD wagons are quite nice and the Outback is well-loved in the snowy regions of the US and Canada.

I kid you not. My wife is petite and back when we were in the US, she drives the Expedition (which was lifted up a bit). When she gets down from the driver's seat, it is hard to see her from the other side of the SUV. The base of the side mirror is about as tall as her.

I have a collapsible organizer that can accommodate some stuff. I can move it to another car's trunk if needed. When not used, I just fold it.

    Something like this:

I also use a smaller one for the rear seat which houses some of the stuff my wife classifies as necessities. We also have something that can used to store frozen food with a zippered cover.
