Why don't you just by a higher level 2nd hand car for that price? Most used cars selling at that price belong to the Php 1M bracket when they were brand new so most were well taken care of (most owners could afford religious maintenance and were afraid of breaking their Php 1M++ investment).

Besides, most people won't even know you bought a used car. hehehe.

Saka entry level cars don't make good investments. Mabilis sila maluma (mabilis ang palitan ng modelo at the lower end of the food chain). With an higher level car, when something breaks, you still feel like its worth repairing (i.e. afrasay always opening up the transmission of his Pajero just for fun) pero kapag entry-level iisipin mong malulugi ka lang kapag ipapagawa mo pa and the tendency will be to sell na lang.

yup correct ako rin puro 2nd hand ang cars ko

browse ka sa car exchange si andeyyy may for sale 99 Civic Vti
    under 500T

    points to ponder
-let the first buyer take the depreciation hit
-sa mga dealers meron used car for sale (eg. ford) under warranty nila
-usually maraming na nakukuhang kotse ang mga banks tapos they sell it, minsan ala
    pang one year yung car
-since ala pang one year ang car usually under warranty pa yan
-no brand new car smell, but you still have money left in your bank

browse ka na lang sa mga threads dito on how to check on 2nd cars

I also have a '98 Honda Civic VTi A/T for sale. Ngayon ko lang naalala hindi kasi rush sale ito. Casa maintained. Classmate ko ang gumagamit. Php 380K siya pero VERY negotiable. All stock. Silver ang kulay.

    kimpOy,

Pareho pala tayo ng buying habits, ha. Hehehe. Allergic ako sa brand new, eh.

thanks for the inputs but then again i am still not positive in buying 2nd hand cars, whether it's high end or low end one... since it is my first owned car, i don't wanna encounter irritating problems such as overheating or needing to replace defective parts--- this is just like putting money out of the bank again after spending much... hmm...

unlike for the past few years since college, i am not worried about my car's wear-outs... given that i have my parents to pay for it...

moreso, on buying 2nd hand cars, the resale value could be a way down lower and at the i end i'll feel like a looser...

pagnakabihis naman ang auto mo hindi naman ganun kadali maluma, diba? i am thinking of getting a city typeZ kasi and have it dressed :?: and i believe honda has a higher resale value...

kimpoy, i would also wanna take a look on the cars from banks! :D baka sakaling maka mura... thanks!

    sHoCkAbSoRbEr,

sa banks naman usually kinukuha na nila yung mga radio, alarms. keyless,
the best pa rin kapag kilala mo yung owner ng 2nd hand car, for example i bought the car of my ate, intact pa service records, sariwa,

yung naman strada ko, sariwa din dahi pinag trade in ng isang dude sa brand new expedition,
nung dinisplay nila yung strada kinuha na namin, kasi ba naman 31T lang tinakbo naka plastic pa moulding (up to now) amoy brand new pa talaga

and correct honda has a higher resale value, lalo na sa civic and accord

kung 2nd hand go for a accord!

Honda City Type Z? Honda is about to kill the City model already. Bagsak ang presyo niyan. And low-end cars no matter how you dress them up will still have dismal resale values. A stock Pajero will outperform it on the second hand market on almost any given day. When was the last time you lusted about a dressed up 2nd hand car? Ako kasi, when I see dressed-up cars sa 2nd hand market naiisip ko na malamang mga bata ang gumamit. Medyo turn-off na ko.

1 or 2 year old cars rarely have major issues. Most of them are being sold because of owners moving up in the automotive ladder. We sold our 8-month old Corolla just because we didn't like it. It was a good car but our hearts were stolen by a used Galant Super Saloon.

2nd hand trucks (Strada, Pajero, Frontier, Patrol, etc.) are made WAY tougher than your average sedan. They are designed to get you to hell and back (or in our case, from the Porac river and back). They are also cheaper to run (diesel) and cheaper to maintain (diesel = less parts to break and replace). The electric fan on my Pajero has ceased to function (probably after going bumper deep through a river) pero hindi pa rin nag-ooverheat. Talk about great engineering. Btw, truck parts are cheaper than most car parts.

I got my 1996 Pajero last year. It didn't really have the most stunning credentials. It was an office vehicle and it was driver-driven. But up to now hindi pa rin ako nagsisisi. A/C pa lang ang pinaayos ko and some suspension bits.

'dressing-up' your car, kahit cosmetic lang (like body kits) will actually decrease the resale value of your car.

ok lang yun... kung saan ka comfortable and may peace of mind, dun ka na

    your choices would include:

    - Honda City VTi 1.5L M/T (599K) or LXi 1.3 A/T (578K)
    - Ford Lynx LSi 1.3 M/T (565K) [GSi 1.6 M/T is 660K]
    - Suzuki Jimny 1.3 M/T (598K) [A/T is 640K]
    - Toyota Corolla LE 1.3 (AE111) (559K)
    - Kia Rio hatchback 1.5 M/T (614K)

baka makakuha ka rin ng clearance-price high-end gen6 Mitsu Lancer...

among those, i'd try to strike a good deal with mitsu for a new old-stock gen6 Lancer for 600K, if not, i'd choose between the City VTi and the Jimny

    I'd go for the:

    - Sentra 1.3 GX, it's less then 600K for the manual model. Just add nice mags, swabe na. 1.3L EFI engine na rin siya (around 95hhp at the crank).

    - Corolla 1.3 LE (still the old body/AE111 design). We have one and it's very reliable... no power windows and mirrors though. Place the Euro/Altis tail lights and grille, maganda na rin.

    - Suzuki Jimny, nice and tall, easy ti park, 4WD. But if you're gonna be carrying people and stuff, i think a sedan would suit you better.

If you want to check out the Nissan Sentra, drop me a private message here or in nissanbayan.com I can link you up with the sales manager of Nissan Gallery Quezon Ave. (he's an active nissanbayan member).

why not get a hi-end entry car like a 1.8g, exalta granduer, or cr-v then go for financing sa sobrang amount. i'm sure the dealers can give you a scheme since malaki naman yung 600k na initial payment mo... check mo na lang kung pwede sa existing sweldo mo
