We're planning to buy a "family" vehicle.. Need your advice kung what's currently the best choice sa mga auv's/suv's..maybe an innova?crosswind?adventure?...i don't know..guys, any others suggestions would be very much appreciated..siguro budget mga 900k-1M lang...kung mas mababa..better..thanks..

Di na uso AUV designation, since maraming lumalabas na MPV (multipurpose vehicle)

Kung may budget ka, I'd go for:

    1) Innova G Diesel Automatic - best currently available MPV hands down

Best dealers I'd recommend are Toyota North Avenue and Toyota Pasong Tamo.

    Kung value for money:

    1) Suzuki APV 1.6L AT - parang Innova G yung options, but at a friendly price (P765k!) and may freebies pa (punta ka kay Lindy ng PilHino Edsa)

In that price range, the Innova is the best value.

Only get the Innova if you are getting the base model variant but if your budget is already at the P1M mark there are a lot of better options.

I'll pick the Kia Sedona Tdi. In all aspects (well, except for resale value), this is the best buy for a P1M MPV/AUV.

For space at a low price, the Innova wins, hands down. Handling and ride are also better than other AUVs (don't expect it to drive like a car, though... oh, wait... it almost does ).

The APV is nice, also, and quite a head-turner. As long as your family isn't too stout... (kind of narrow) it's fine.

Over 1m, you're in CUV (compact SUV) territory. Lots and lots of good choices. I don't like the idea of buying AUVs like the Innova for over 1m, because you're not gaining any extra safety over the lower-end models... just more toys.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I was also thinking abou that... kaso P1.1M and above ang Starex since lahat ay CRDi version na.

RE: Crosswind - this is spot on. When buying a Crosswind, go as low as possible. The toys we got on the XUVi, the LCD monitors and the massager, don't seem worth the extra cost. I thought it was too much to pay for a Crosswind when we got it... but it wasn't my money, so... fine!

    These toys:
-chrome mags / big tires: These make the XUVi very slow, very tall, and not at all confidence inspiring under braking. The newer Sportivo uses Goodyear Forteras instead of Duelers, a more road-oriented tire, so it ought to brake better. But whatever the tire, these heavy mags take their toll on acceleration and fuel economy(!). I've ridden in the older XTO, and even in AT, it feels sprightlier than the XUVi.

    - LCD screens: VCD only (so quality is so-so) and you can't really watch in traffic because the Crosswind shakes too much.

    - Seat massager: can't slide chair (to give 2nd row more room) because of this... but foot distance is okay. Fully mechanical, and quite nice... but the Crosswind already gives you a butt-numbing massage through the seats.

    - roof rack: 15 kg limit? Why bother?

    - no ABS or Airbags... que horror!

The best bet of the line is the lower end XT / regular Crosswind... in manual. Same ride, better handling and quicker acceleration (better tire-wheel combo), and the rest of the money you save can go to buying better toys for the interior.

That's also a very good choice. Very good looking too if you get the all black version and strip the colored decals. Angas! And definitely more space than most of the other cars in your budget.

Should be moderately crashworthy, too, being based on a Mitsubishi design.

If you get an Innova, go for the mid-range E... the J is very good value for money, but manual window winders might be a sacrifice too far. With what you save over the G variant, you can get a professional sound installation and some good leather installed... plus some nice wheels and mags.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

If you already have another ride/sedan for daily use/when your travelling alone to with upto three passengers, and just need another ride kapag kumpleto pamilya, I suggest the Sedona. If your looking for a single ride to use for both needs, reco the Innova. Enjoy choosing/shopping for a ride!

Nice link. Been hearing nga that the Sedona has been getting top pick safety ratings in US crash tests, even beating popular US minivans like the Caravan. Been so amazed with these results they're getting.

from user feedbacks... the engine is pretty reliable as it has been already out here in the Philippines for a new years already. you can't go wrong with either the Tdi & V6 variants.
