magkano ba armored car aabutin? tsaka allowed ba civilians bumili or gumamit nyan?

dami nga sa sulit.. mga bulletproof.. ano yun pati lahat nagn salamin bulletproof kaya?? meron montero under 3M..
Well to start with, we have 3 bulletproofed cars for drug smuggling.. este.. I mean work purposesThat's two Level 6 Expeditions and one Level 4 Monty GT-V.
1. Don't use them as a daily driver unless it's lightly armored. Capable of stopping pistols? Baka pwede pa. Daily driving a Carbine-stopping car? Don't.
2. What's under your hood will determine your armoring level. It's a bit pointless to bulletproof a Toyota Vios if it turns your 0-60mph from 15 seconds to 40. Kung may gusto pumatay sayo, expect them to chase you at least. Please, do NOT underestimate how heavy bulletproofing is. Using the Expeditions merit me to forecast driving movements at least 3-4 cars away.
3. Don't be showy. The point of bulletproofing is to save your damned life in case of an emergency not to show it off. Besides, being more conspicuous will only mean you're more of a target. Let's say you're a killer and you need to kill somebody who wears orange clothing, has a lot of bling, and has an afro.. hell.. that's way easier than getting information like "boy with shirt and jeans".
4. Say goodbye to your passenger/driver/all of your side glass. Fixed na yan. Don't bother ordering take-outs or getting mall parking tickets by pulling down your window.. you'll have to open your door for that. If you do opt for the optional "retractable" bulletproof-glass, don't. A lot of owners complain about the sliding mechanism a lot... not to mention mahal pa.
5. Don't go overboard with the options. If possible, keep it simple. L4 is good na with reinforced door panels and glass bullet-proofing. Ito mali namin sa unang Expedition.. it's actually hilarious when I look back since ang daming options naka-check which made it an absolute pain in the ass to drive.
For one, the glass is thicker than my entire finger which means driving it means my windshield just a 10 inches away from my head. Thanks to the thickness of the glass it also didn't like the heat of the metro over time so cracks began on appearing on the 3rd year due to glass expansion.
Pop open the hood and you'll just be met with a flat panel. Batteries? Covered. Engine? Covered. Lahat nalang. Bottom also has ballistic protection and can handle small explosives. Problem is... car stalled due to battery problem? Don't bother calling Motolite Delivery... since kamot-ulo sila dyan. I hope you keep your "battery case key" around.
Due to the added weight from armoring, you'll need to upgrade the chassis and suspension depending on the "proofing". In our case, the chassis and suspension was upgraded to cope up with the added weight so that it drives normal. Still, I will recommend upgrading your brake system.. and if you're loaded, the engine too. Viva Triton V8 superchargers :naughty2:
Then there's the rule not to push the red smokescreen button. I always wanted to.. but if I play around with it patay ako sa repercussions pagbalik so I don't dare![]()
On the topic, can you buy armored cars like those in banks? Yes you can. Those are considered private cars kasi. Problema lang, I cannot recommend them. First, those are specialized vehicles. They're not comfortable at all. Want to take them to Baguio? Good luck. You'll need even more luck if they do break-down. What I do recommend is get a diesel Fortuner or Montero and lightly armor them --- pistol-stopping lang kilangan mo.
For the specialized vehicles, you can buy them from security contractors secondhand or armoring vehicle specialists first-hand. There's an association that does vehicle armoring naman so you can look that up. One of the larger armoring companies is CTK in Banawe and I'll also recommend them due to their reputation. If you plan on armoring a SUV, just get a talk to them and get a quote. Prices will depend on protection and options.

Yes pwede yun. But most buyers will usually reinforce all of the windows. Front windshield and rear glass is obvious for a lot of reasons. The front (driver & passenger) is needed is because if your driver gets shot, yari ka. The back is needed is because you're mostly being chauffeured around with the safest seat being directly behind the driver.
I forgot the cost pala. Hmm... as costs depends on options (parang Porsche lang yan.. super tempting magcheck ng options haha), I'd say have at least Php3m if you plan on going for the Level 6 one.
In our case, 2km/L lang usually si Expedition on city driving. I remember spending Php5,000 with a QC-Fontana-QC-Makati route. Abot Makati ubos naand the incident kinda pissed me off since 3 days palang. The Monty is a bit better with 5km/L. See the ad on a Fortuner with B6 protection? Don't bother. Super bagal niyan. A B4 will a better choice.
Due to the added weight, you usually need to reach higher revs to get ample torque to haul your ass. I will also recommend diesel's torque figures over sheer gasoline horsepower.
We also explored the possibility of importation of armored cars from the US. Problem is the taxation pagdating dito. If let's say a US Expedition costs $50,000 then pinabullet-proof niyo in the US with the cost of $55,000. Common sense will usually dictate that we pay a 100% tax on the vehicle SRP ($50K) but for some damned reason, Customs will double the entire expense ($105k x 2 = $210k) and that's the reason why having it made locally is better... not to mention reliant ka sa bulletproofing company for maintenance.

[QUOTE=raycon_24;2353188]blind spot galore[QUOTE]
