Actually that part about OR and CR to follow, is something I'm uneasy about. OR and CR (along with a fully accomplished and notarized DOS) is your proof of ownership. In the absence of those documents together, you will be looking like carnappers. :D

On the other hand, if the owners are really doing the transfer for you, they will need the actual OR and CR to be able to perform the transfer. But do you trust them enough to do as they say esp. after you have completely paid them off?

OR, CR, and DOS should be turned over upon exchange of funds. Its better to handle the transfer yourself if possible.

I see. Kaya lang we'd like to avoid the hassle in dealing with bureaucratic red tape. Is it ok then to hold off paying him the amount in full until the transfer of ownership has been accomplished?

If I were you, I would do partial payment first and remaining balance after I receive the new OR and CR. Again this would depend on your agreement with the other party. But definitely you need to get an actual copy of the DOS. Plus a proof of payment in the form of bank transaction, etc. or a signed cash voucher.

It's best to notify the seller to have all the documents para kaliwaan na lang kayo. No hassle. Just make sure you did your investigation on the cars documents like inquiring sa Pnp at Lto offices kung may alarm yun plate no.nang kotse po prior to setting the date of final payment

Will update you guys once we've made the purchase.

I'm thinking that after we get the unit, I'd like to bring it to an auto shop for a check-up or tune-up to iron the kinks out (if there are any) and just to make sure it's in top running condition.

Yes, that's really what you should do once you get the car.

Inspect and/or replace all fluids and filters, check suspension bits, engine drive belts, and so on.

Alright then, will make sure to attend to it after we get the unit. 👍

One question pala, not sure if this is OT na. We only have open parking space for the car. Will a car cover suffice to protect the car o do we need to get a tent? Where can we get a heavy duty tent? I think canvas material ang matibay?

The best way to protect a car's finish for me is to keep it free from dust most of the time. I do this by washing my car with water only every week. I find soaping and waxing unnecessary, di naman ako lumalaban sa car show .

Dust + rain + sun = baked on acid dust. I only use car cover after I wash my car parked under a roof to avoid dust over the weekend, so pagka lunes sariwa pa siya.

A tent will be better but the car cover will suffice.

Canvas material you can buy downtown(binondo) near T. Pinpin and Sabino Padilla (Gandara) area. You need to give them the right measurements and they can custom make one for you.

Best to get a tent. I don't recommend car covers for open parking as weather is not predictable. Bad thing is when it's under the sun the covers tend to melt a little and this will stick to your cars paint and leave it's print to your cars finish

be careful with the tent. During stormy weather or strong wind conditions, it can fly away and hit your car

Problem solved na pala. We live next door to my parents' house and they offered to let us use the extra parking space in their garage. We just need to clear out some stuff na nag-accumulate na these past few years at tinambak doon 👌

Hey guys, just wanted to update you about the car. Thanks for all your help, really appreciate it. We got the unit a few days ago and thankfully, smooth transaction naman with the seller. When we got the unit, inasikaso na rin ng assistant niya ang transfer of ownership. We got the OR and CR the same day. Thanks again for walking me through the whole process of buying a second hand and which issues to watch out for.

It's only been a few days but so far we're happy with the unit. Yun nga lang, second day palang ng practice, nabangasan ko na agad. Medyo malaki ang tama sa bumper. Too embarassed to share the story of how it happened. Let's just say, kasalanan ng poste. :cry2: Looking for a shop now kung saan pwede dalhin. Nagpa-estimate kami kanina sa kakilala ng driver namin, he quoted 8k. Kailangan daw ilatero. But we're looking for another place to bring it kasi kakasabi lang ng sister ko na hindi raw pulido gumawa yung pinuntahan namin. Nagkapatse patse raw yung sasakyan niya after pinturahan ng same shop.

You can imagine hubby's face when we got off the car after ko mabangga. Buti nalang hindi nagkameltdown. Lol. Anyway, OT na ito. Will just post my queries sa separate thread for Honda repair. Just wanted to thank you guys again. Salamat!

I can imagine your SO's face. My gf side swiped a wall on her first day of driving too. Charge to experience nalang, battle scars yan hehe.

Hi TS! Would you mind sharing yung dealership na pinagkuhaan mo ng sasakyan?
