ang hihina naman ng mga advice nyo!

think people! she needs a brand new car. she wants it for security/safety. but she can't afford it yet as many here surmise. so the best solution is.....

get a BOYFRIEND WHO OWNS A NEW CAR! brnad new car na, secured pa siya (may driver na may bodyguard pa), and best of all libre so hindi apektado ang budget nya!

    To address some questions:
    - She lives on her own, 5k apt with garage, utilities she bears on her own.
    - She works night shift, hence the yearning for a personal transport. Though her apartment is les s than 10k to and fro. Safety is her primary concern.
    - Company loan is out of the question because it is not a benefit she gets.
    - The 40k is total take home per month, tax deductdd already.
    - She is clueless with cars thats why she wants a new one. Not purely because of status symbol.
    - She lives alone, siblings and parents nasa US na, mejo di sila close, so no lifeline.
    - Umiiwas ako na makita at mahikayat cya sa low down, I am showing her na minsan aabot ng almost 50% ang interest ng ganun lalu na kung in house.

Papabasa ko sa kanya lahat ng inputs nyo folks, don't worry she can take the criticism.

Also, let us keep this alive, mukhang maraming mga taong nasa ganitong predicament.

40k net... teka ha... eto mga guesstimate ng monthly costs...

    5k apt
    4k kuryente + water
    1k dsl
    1k cable
    1k cp
    5k gas
3k (monthly prorated comp ins + maint ++)
    6k food

so 14k for savings + gimmick + (disposable income=100% for the car MA)

13k ba kamo ang MA, so 1k per month for savings and gimmick...

    parang di ok ah....

i'm trying to search for the blog that became famous because of an article written on this subject matter. it was written by a lawyer and enumerating the possible things which might happen should someone buy a car without studying all the responsibilities that goes with it.

may nakabasa ba nun? sobrang applicable sa mga taong nagdadalawang isip kung bibili o hindi.

parang "attorney cumpanero" ata ang title ng blogspot. i'm still searching and will share once found.

    it's really very simple:
    1. how much does it cost?
    2. how much can you afford?
    3. are you, realistically, honestly, willing and able to live on the difference?

actually, there's another alternative: move house and live near your workplace.

You have not been supportive guys.

    2. She would like to have a brand new car, this is non-negotiable.

All your inputs are well taken folks. My friend is seeing the light.

Thanks for the article that you displayed here by that attorney, it pretty much gave her being a first time would be car loan"er", a bird's eye view of what her future challenges are.

Most likely she would continue to save up, she is targetting to save at least 180k before EOY. However, she would be delaying her purchase until such a time she would have some more money saved up before she commits to buying a car.

I told her to target 300k at least in savings before committing, its not easy not being able to buy stuff you do need because you are fully committed with your monthly amortization.

I do hope she takes the advise though.
