What's the best sedan to buy for about 1m?
Uses would be driving within the city and doing groceries and the usual errands.
Our village has speed bumps. Idk if I should worry about it that much but when our old vios was loaded with even just three people it would sag enough to scrape. But most of the time only one or two people would be in the car so scraping might not be a problem.

Comfort and ease to drive would be top priorities because it is either my mom or my sister who would be driving this car. Good fc would be a plus too. [emoji39]

Not in a rush naman right now, doc. So looking at options. pag wala talaga alternative na viable we might end up getting an altis. The vios is a solid choice but we are keeping the old 2G another 2 years.

Will be looking at the AT version of the Jetta. since it's either my mom or sister who will be using this.

If we do decide to pull the trigger early then the altis will be out of the equation because we won't reach the facelift.

VW Jetta 1.4 TSI DSG (950k) or Honda Civic 1.8E (1.1M).

Though if you want comfort and economy, the Altis still has a plusher ride and better fuel efficiency than either of the two. Cheaper maintenance too. No problems with scraping either even with 5 on board.

Never knew the Jetta is in this price bracket. Will definitely look into that I agree the civic is beautiful and we did look at the Mazda3. Both the Mazda and civic are headturners but you are right about the altis being more comfortable. Isn't the Jetta at par with the altis in comfort?

Just go to VW-BGC and inquire about their offers for their models. You can even do a test-drive for the model you're interested with. The Jetta offers a refined ride, more composed than a Civic. Since you're interested with the 1.4L Turbo DSG, that powerplant is quite punchy (like in the league of the turbo engines of the Focus and Civic).

Better go ASAP as a lot of people has gotten an idea of the sale. The Jetta 2.0L TDI DSG on sale at 1.05M is already sold out. You can also check out the Golf 1.4T at 1.1M. It may not have the trunk of the Jetta but it shares the same platform and engine. The Golf is more engaging to drive. As Niky says, it is nimbler than the Mazda3 2.0R and has more grip than the Focus 1.5L Ecoboost. The 1.4L Turbo is rated at 150-160 hp at 5000-6000 rpm and 240-250Nm of torque at 1500-4500 rpm. That makes the Jetta and Golf 1.4T among the quicker compacts available in the market.
