Best option for brand new 1300cc car

guys,

what's your recommendation? honda city? or corolla xe?

btw, bakit wala ng 1300cc ang new corolla at lancer? does this mean na they're concentrating more on the 1.6 category?

it seems that the new corolla and lancer are moving upscale (especially yung corolla, hence the "new" name Altis)... which is an understandable business strategy for mitsu and toyota...

lalabas na yung bagong Honda City and Toyota Vios soon... the new City in particular looks to be very impressive!

the market for 1300cc is still there (esp. sa price ng gas ngayon) , iniiwasan lang ata ng car manufacturers na gawing taxi yung lines nila for brand imaging. remember yung ginawa nila sa FX tamaraw when it became hot for taxi, iniba na nila yung door sa likod, even the late 90's na corolla ang liit na ng space for the passengers unlike sa earlier models.

With the current 1.3L choices, i'd go with the Nissan Sentra 1.3 (in the new Sentra body)... EFI, 95hp, twin cam 16-valve engine na siya.

IMHO, better na mag-antay lang munang ma-ipasa na itong excise tax law na nakabitin pa sa cong ang senwait... :D

Sabi nila, before end of May dapat approve na, if not papasok ang walang hiyang BIR sponsored tax law :evil:

Yung 1.3 nila, may manual at may automatic (SRP is 580k and 620k, respectively, the last time i asked). I think Nissan lang ang me automatic na 1.3, unless you count the Jimny.

Meron din pala 1.3 Ford Lynx.

I think you have to ask the others here kung alin ang ok between the choices available, as I don't know much cars.

here's my choices:

Ford Lynx (still looks good! the hubcaps are well integrated to give that mags look)

Nissan Exalta (get mags asap as those steel rims are hideous!)

stay away from:

Honday City (yupiin and chipipay ang interior)

Toyota Corolla (outdated body!)

get the Nissan Exalta GE or the Ford Lynx. They are good buys. Stay away from the Honda city and Corolla Xe.....luma na style at maliit sila. IMO

Small, Fuel Efficient, High Ground Clearance, Sturdy!

Perfect for my wife, whose doesn't mind running over potholes!
