Is it still worth it to buy honda civic FD 2009-2011 1.8S AT this 2021? I am planning to buy kaya lang hirap mag hanap ngayon ng pasok sa criteria ko. Preferably all stock at simple lang tapos as much as possible low mileage (70k or less). 300-400k max budget.

Yes, I think the FD is a great car, I assume as I own an FB. My 2013 FB is valued at 320k by insurance, there's a reference for the FD price.

Di na ako naniniwala sa low mileage ngayon hahaha. Tingnan mo lahat ng for sale na FD sa FD group sa fb, puro 60k mileage. Mga 5 year old cars ngayon na 70k mileage na, tapos FD, 70 at twice the age? I believe that there's a handful around, but that many? Andali nalang magreset ng odometer haha

I'd rely more on the condition of the car rather than the declared mileage. I got a 2009 2.0s with 110k mileage, magdalawang taon na ngayon. Pero pwede rin sinwerte lang? Haha

How would you know na tampered ang odo? Kamusta naman ang FC ng 2.0?

there is no hard and fast rule.
you have to look at the entire picture,
including the easy-to-see wear-and-tear clues like the upholstery, the mats, the pedals,
then the owner's perceived driving routes and habits,
and then ask yourself, "how could this car still have low mileage?"

I think yung reset na ganyan is sa instrument cluster lang right? Newer cars with CAN BUS likely store the true mileage in the ECU. Not sure lang if the FD already does this.

how may the average amateur pre-owned car buyer access such information from the ECU?

Buy a scan tool. Prices have been coming down and it's very useful. It'll likely pay for itself after scanning three or four check engine lights (vs going to CASA depending on your car model to just to get a diagnostic scan).

Pwede din kahit OBD2 dongle lang (an ELM327 is only a few hundred pesos) and use an app like Torque. ODOMETER's PID is 0xA6 or 166 (decimal). Most OBD apps can view any data by manually entering the PID.

papayag kaya yung seller na ikabit ito sa kotse niya?
has anyone actually done it to a car he is inspecting to buy?
