Friend of mine engages in buy-and-sell... he said pajero/trooper went as low as 80k less during the launch of fortuner when a lot went selling their pajero's and trooper's to acquire fortuner. after actual experiences of fortuner and wallowy ride is realized, price of pajero's /trooper's went back 80k more =)...

if its for your daily drive, you wont go wrong with a Gen 2.5 Paj....very reliable, mas mura ang mga pyesa kesa sa Land Cruiser 90 or 100 series or probably with even a trooper, mas abundant din ang parts nito okay pa rin naman ang porma...not so big of an SUV so madali syang i-drive at isingit o i-park...

if its your second car/coding car, an LC will be nice.... very durable and I really like its stance...tsaka parang di naluluma yung design nya....pang porma na rin...hehehehe

if its your weekend warrior/offroad vehicle....Patrol Safari is very good...in stock form with just a minor lift and it will go anywhere where the others probably dont even dare to thread.....

Trups are also very nice...but have some scary problem with the injectors....see the related thread on this....

guys here's my take...and mga nakuha ko sa inyo...please feel free to debate or refute...but mukang gusto ko is 2000 up na model....

Paj- okay din kaso underpowered...easy and cheap to maintain...maporma

XP- okay ang porma, mura resale, mura din bilhin...gastos sa gas...gastos i-maintain...to scalpel, bro, honestly how is your gas consumption? 4x2 ba yung binebenta mo?

Trooper- okay din kaso may problem with injectors...is this really a problem with all troopers? maganda sana siya kaso I crossed it off my list kasi nga because of this problem....

    Lalo ata akong naguluhan! hehehe
Patrol-parang last choice ko ata ito...too big and still too expensive

mukhang problem nga ng trups to. yung classmate ko bumili last year 2000 model. after 5 mos na gamit nya, palit agad yung injectors. 50k petot agad. ouch!

Maiba ng tanong..are open to other options? I'm no expert sa SUV's pero I would consider the new Toyota Hilux 4x2 (SUV rin ang dating, hitech engine), less than 800k. You have extra for a nice setup.

Sa casa ba puede antayin, or may alam kayo mahusay tumingin?

    Thanks!

if you guys feel the pajero is underpowered...

dalhin niyo sa autoplus. according to jonathan there, who was tempting me to get the 18" forged TE-37s (which cost 140T for 4 rims), they got to increase the output ng 2.5L turbodiesel 4d56 by 33% with fuelling and boost increase. shempre uusok ng onti pero to be expected. and on stock engine parts pa yan ah. costs about 9K lahat, kasama dyno tuning.

now imagine that on the 4m40. :D

too bad lang nga i forgot to drop by autoplus when i had extra cash. kainis.

and +1 on the "pogi pa rin FM" comment ni pajerokid.

Maop99, Mine is at 5 km/liter, no Kaos-- same consumption as my Starex.

Davy88, I'm selling my 2001 with 15t km only, full service record so you can check at the casa that there's no problem. flooring and radio still has plastic covering.

I think I may be down to my 2 choices, if I'm conservative I'll go for the Pajero 2001 4x2 but if I go extreme, Expedition pero 4x2 lang hehehe

Would anyone know the consumption of their Gen 2 Pajero? I used to own one doing 6-7 km/l. I also found the ride a little bumpy ...

7-ish km/L yan usually on city drive, assuming na 2.5L engine and not the ones with 2.8L.

our gen2.5 with 2.8L engine runs about 6-ish km/L city drive.
