guys help...budget 1M below...what's the best buy? expedition? Trooper? Pajero? Land cruiser-mahal pa ata ito ehehe? any other suggestions? Lower maintenance is always a plus....balita sa Expedition, 100K kms may papalitan that will cost you 100K pesos din...is this True? Thanks

You can get an older model Expedition for less than 1M. I think mga '99 model kaya ng budget mo.

    Happy hunting!

A few months ago I got to talk with a dealer selling a 2000 Expedition for less than P 1 M, he said the unit can do 6 to 7 kms per liter (usual is 3 to 4 km/lt) in city driving. He is willing to have it proven on a test run. Of course, the Expedition was fitted with a gas saving device. You can check out if the unit is still there at the side of the Robinson Pioneer mall along Edsa.

Toyota Landcruiser 80 (local/dubai)... pero medyo mahirap maghanap dahil owners are reluctant to let it go.

99 Isuzu Trooper-facelifted na with still a reliable 4JG2 TDiC engine

99 Mitsubishi Pajero 2.5 the last of the 4x4 models...

97-98 Toyota Landcruiser 90 (PRADO)...isa pang reliable na no nonsense SUV.

expedition? for me i wont even consider it...i have this mantra if i cannot bring it to pinatubo then its not for me...

    Loko loko!

For me, Nissan Patrol GQ siguro. I already have a GEN II Pajero and regularly drive a GEN II.5 FM yet I'm still aspiring for a Patrol (last model yata nito ay '98?). But to tell you the truth, it's not for everybody. Cramped interior, noisy engine, some flimsy details, etc. But it's rock solid, easy to maintain, easy to repair, excellent 4wd system, etc. And no one messes with you on the road when you're driving around in one of these tanks. I guess its the best compromise between the extremely hard-edged Land Rover Defender and the becoming-too-soft-for-me GEN II Pajero.

My other choice would be a Land Rover Discovery. But that's an acquired taste also. Been checking out the market. Prices for a '97 range from around Php600k for an ex-JDM V8 model to Php850k for a locally sold TDi matic.

I believe Land Cruiser will hold its value more than any other Suvs in the market.

PATROL may mga isolated case na troublesome ang turbo and marami na rin nagsasabi na underpowered siya...havent driven one comment on it...

SAFARI...aba ibang usapan yan...kaso nga lang truck feel pa rin pero hindi ka ibibitin niyan
and may rear diff lock pa to boot...

barry oo nabenta ko na ang Trooper ko, sa march 18/19 manonood ka ba ng off road race dito sa pampanga

Okay naman ang Expedition kung gusto mo porma lang.... Pero if you want to go off-roading, consider other alternatives.
