any recommendation for 3-4m car?

believe me tol, a convertible is not worth it... even in express ways you wouldn't dare to open it

pero back to the topic: the new 2012 MB SLK hard top would be nice but you would have to stretch your budget a little more to about 5.5m
-the only thing that would fit your budget is the big exact 3m mark (BMW 3 series, MB C-class, Audi A4, Lexus IS300)... the only transpo with a price range of 3m-4m's are SUVs...

I do not suggest convertibles, especially in this country. You wouldn't be able to use it due to the hot weather and dreadful pollution. It will also be more problematic in the long run. I'd suggest you get coupes, sports sedans or high end compact SUVs. Here are some cars I find to be appealing (in no particular order).
1. Audi A4 3.2FSI Quattro (P3.880M)- the great styling, AWD and the 266hp FSI engine make it a very good buy. In fact I prefer this one over the C-Class and the 3-Series and its got a much lower price tag too, with pretty much the same level of equipment.
2. Audi Q5 2.0TFSI Quattro (P3.980M)- I find this one the best looking in its class (X3, MB GLK, XC60). The engine is very good, and being a TFSI unit, dropping in a piggyback ECU will bring in huge performance gains.
3. Volvo XC60 D5 (P3.595M)- If you are into diesels, this one's got the most powerful one in its class, and being a Volvo it naturally comes with a full host of safety equipment, besides being the cheapest in its class.
4. Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X MR (P3.695M)- This one needs no introduction. And this time around the dual clutch TC-SST 6 speed A/T will make it much easier to drive as compared to its predecessors and also much better than the Impreza WRX STi (whose A/T option is an ordinary 5 speed A/T).
5. Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8V6 with Brembo Package (P1.990M)- Now, I know that it may sound absurd that your budget is at 3-4M and that I am suggesting a Korean car costing half of that budget. But this one is a truly great performing car, that made the V6 Camaro look like a really bad deal (costs 1.098M more and with similar levels of performance). And since you bought it for so cheap, you've got a lot of extra to spend for engine and suspension upgrades. And then, you already have 306hp and a nearly 50:50 front/rear weight distribution as a starting point. :devil:
6. Chevrolet Camaro 2SS (P4.3M)- If you don't mind the fuel consumption of a huge 400hp 6.2L V8, this is among the best sports cars you can get at this price range in the Philippine market. A Camaro in Bumblebee form would be a definite head turner.

Convertible? Only two good ones in your price range... the Mini Cooper S Convertible (around 2.5m) and the Mazda Miata Hardtop. Both fantastic fun to drive. Both pretty special feeling, both reasonably easy to own... though maintenance and parts are cheaper for the Mazda.

Then mail the extra 1.5m to me.

I have driven the current Lexus IS300.

Personally, spending loads of money (nearly P3M) buying the IS300 is a waste because all you are getting is a cramped 4 door saloon car with a big engine that doesn't even have the performance to go anywhere near "fast". Although it might look good from the outside, it's not worth the sardine-can feeling whenever you get in it.

i beg to differ, My bro agrees that the my IS 6 cylinder engine runs better than his A4 Tdi. but interior wise, the A4 is better.
The interior of the IS is fairly cramped im 5'5 and big boned but i fit snugly... but for larger people i woudnt recommend it...
but still it looks good and a hoot to drive

I agree with your statement here. The IS300 would've sucked big time if it is outrun by a 2.0L four cylinder turbo diesel A4. But of course, if we were talking about the A4 with the 3.2FSI V6, that would be entirely different. The Volvo S60 is a very good package, but I don't know why the wild looks just doesn't appeal to me. It just doesn't have that clean cut, understated elegance and sportiness I've always liked with Audi's. Just my own opinion though.

Lexus is300c is good, I'm a lexus user myself.. i liked it more than the a4, 3, and C...
the only thing disappointing with the IS300c is the rear legroom, other than that its a great car.
MONEY wise, i'd rather not. because the IS will have a model change early 2013

z4 - i wouldn't recommend it, with a SRP of 6,000,000 with almost no options included... its practically a scam

hmmm if i were you just wait for the 2013 audi a5 and the c-class coupe, arriving midyear of 2012...
