Hello! Hingi po sana ako ng advice kung anong marerecommend niyo na units given my criteria. Para po ito sa aking aging parents (60s) na madaming lakad. Right now they’re using a very old van (Grace). Thankfully nakapagipon po ako ng konti para sa kanila and I want to buy in cash po soon or in the next 6 months.

    - budget: 700k-1M comfy (flex up to 1.2 sagad)
    - not more than 7 years old
    - SUV or any 7seater na hindi van. Gusto ng tatay ko SUV sana. Bahain din po sa lugar nila pag tag-ulan.
    - Comfy: malalaking tao po sila, all 5’10” pataas at bilugin hehe
    - AT/diesel
    - Safety features: Gusto ko po sana yung may side curtain airbags at knee na din po. Dito po ako nahihirapan maghanap. Innova at pajero lang po ang nakikita ko online na pasok dito.

    Salamat mga katsikot sa tulong!

Toyota Rush na totl, although not an SUV, pasok lahat ng criteria mo.

Pangit lang interior, pero Toyota designed it naman to cater sa oldies, so baka di nila pansin.

    Wala, pero bakit need diesel?

Also kung malaki pala sila, baka medyo di comfy sa Rush. Best to test drive.

I don't get the obsession of Pinoys (based sa online comments) sa MT and Diesel.

Haha ako din sir nagtataka sa diesel “obsession” pero I guess it’s the cheaper fuel price? Di ako sigurado. Alam ko lang gusto niya (dad) diesel.

Thanks sa tip sir. Also I’d rather not buy brand new din sana para nakain na ang deprec kahit pano.

They are in the 60s, kung 2nd hand yan, ikaw ba mismo magpapagawa pag may sira na (physically & financially)?

Parang mas practical kung brand new, since may cash ka naman.

And they'll probably keep it until the rest of their lifetime..

i would think, being old and all that, they would prefer a sedan. "u-upo na lang, then pull their legs in".
my folks found it not-easy, to get up onto our taller vehicle. even wifey, prefers the sedan.
also, sedans probably offer the nicer, less-tagtag ride.
    but this is just us.

totally get this sentiment. my brother drives a newish camry and while they like that car my brother cant visit them pag may ulan kasi bahain talaga lugar nila. so really need a vehicle na kaya baha. am i right to assume na may pwede imod/dagdag sa suv to make it easier for them to get in and out? thanks po for the reply.

Probably good for shorter people doc. At their age, weight and 5'10", probably not. Having to sit low is bad for their knees and back.

Anyway, sedans won't cut it because he mentioned they live in a frequently flooded area. Crossovers and PPVs are his best bet.

I would personally choose the BRV since its transmission is a CVT and a 7 speed automatic na rin po
Ayos pala dalawa transmission nu CVT and 7AT

with the arrival of CVT, some potential buyers now look at the standard 4AT as leprechaunous and "must be voided at all costs".
whatever advantage the CVT has over the 4AT, is, in my opinion, not that much of a deal-breaker, just like the absence-of-reverse-cam issue.

They would appreciate the Innova. I just don't know about its airbags if they have on the sides and knees.

subaru is japanese and 15% owned by toyota, the safety features and ride comfort is at par with euro cars, unlike other 4x2 "SUV'S", its all wheel drive and being a turbo variant gives it better acceleration and the pull of a diesel. It good wading depth despite riding lower than other brands. only con i can think of is being a boxer engine, not all shops know how to properly work on it.

    Try looking at Suzuki APV

Bakit kailangan ng knee and side curtains? Mahilig ba kayo mag-highway?
