Anyone thinks this is a good buy? I kinda think it is but would like to hear your thoughts.

The car looks well maintained at least in pics, haven't seen it in person yet though.

Very much of a good deal! The Passat had an SRP of over 2M back in 2016. For that price, you get a true blue Euro car with lots of performance. Based on inputs from folks, the Passat 2.0T shares the same engine & tranny as the Golf GTi but quicker to 100kmh. All local Passats sold from 2015 onwards were imported from Germany.

Please share some pics. Maintenance would be the same as any turbo gas car. Change oil is required every 12 months or 15k km. Tranny maintenance for the VW DSG is every 100k km.

We have already maintained our 2016 Jetta 1.6L TDI on our own. We buy oil and filters from Lazada, and just have it serviced at trusted local shops. The Passat shares the same cabin filters and air filters as the Jetta and Golf.

I just saw it on FB marketplace, one guy was selling 13 units originally, now they're down to seven, still enough for us to get our own, haha.
    He says company owned.

Kung hindi lang bound for another capital purchase right now i would've forced the issue with the wife, kaso mukang hindi talaga kaya haha.

She says we can sell our Golf GTS for it kaso I want to keep them both sana.

    Tara tingnan natin? Haha

If company owned, then these cars are casa maintained. VW offered a good discount to companies who opt to use the Passat and Jetta as their fleet cars.

Did you check if it’s the Highline or Business Edition? The Business Edition was sold for around 2.7M while the Highline was at 2.3M back then.

Oks naman yung amin. It clocked over 55k km in 4 years. It is one solid car. It is even more comfortable than the Civic FC. The oil requirement (VW 507) is a bit hard to find but good thing Amsoil Euro formula is available in Lazada. Matipid sya sa diesel.

If you don’t want the DSG model, you can look for the MT models.

The Passat 2.0T can easily do 0-100kmh in 7 seconds. If you want more power, you can tune it to 300hp.

    Group 1: VW EA888 MQB Gen3 2.T for 28hp, 293hp and 3hp

As good as the Golf GTS can be, it can never be a Passat. The same way as a Civic to an Accord or the Altis to the Camry.

For that same amount of money, there are only a few options available for a used vehicle powered by a 2.0L turbo gas engine.

There should be. The Passat, Golf, and Jetta share the same parts as the Audi A3 and A4. I guess some Audi owners also opt to look for parts outside the dealership.

For suspension parts, surely Bosch or Bilstein will have something for VW. Not sure though with KYB.

Catastrophic Piston Failure 2.0t TSI Engine ~ Walkthrough and Diagnosis - YouTube

Ingat lang. I’m sure VW has good engines if well maintained and not abused.
