September 20th, 2006 02:19 PM #1hello to all. ano po ba yung impedance? what po ang difference pag ang sub e 2 ohms or 4 ohms. pasensya na po kasi di ko po talaga alam mga to e.

Impedance sa DC circuit (battery powered) is the rated resistance of an instrument, component etc., if it were a load. It is normally expressed in ohm/s.
If an amplifier is rated at 4 ohms(its internal impedance/resistance), then it needs to see a 4-ohm load (speaker/s) across its output terminals to provide the (theoretical) maximum power transfer. Heto iyong tinatawag na impedance matching.

Beware of connecting speakers whose impedance are LOWER than your amp's rated impedance. This will cause too much current to be used which may result in overheating and/or failure of the amp.
IMPORTANT: When you connect two speakers (or speaker sets) (or more) in parallel, the impedance becomes LOWER than the lowest of the impedances! (Usually done by connecting two sets off the same output).
Sa AC dalawa ang components ng impedance, merong "resistance" (resistance = impedance sa DC), merong "reactance". I can't elaborate kasi super boring geeky details at OT na.
