November 3rd, 2002 05:37 PM #2Cars have a lot of electrical noise in them. The higher the voltage output the lesser it is susceptible to noise. By using a higher voltage head unit you can set the gain on your amp lower and thus amplify less noise..However, u must be certain that the amplifier being connected to the output can handle high voltage or u will not be able to use the extra voltage..

in addition to yamyam's explanation.......it is advisable to use a high pre out HU especially when it comes to bi-amplification......it lessens the noise generated by other mechanical and electrical parts in your car.....especially static.....high wattage HU's tend to give excellent SQ.....:D
