I'd like to upgrade the speakers of my Civic FD 2.0 while retaining the stock head unit. Would doing so immensely improve the sound quality even without an amplifier? What brand of separates are great sounding even without amplifier? kindly recommend... ayaw ko kasing ma-void ang warranty ng car ko kaya ayaw ko muna maglagay ng amplifier.. thanks!

Best brand seperates Morel, Hertz, Focal ,Infinity ,Boston acoustic . Theres a difference in sound but its best to have a seperate amplifier to power the seperates to produce a Loud and clear sound.

The 6.5 will sound better. Choice the speakers w/ higher sensitivity(ex: 88/ 89/ 90/ 91/ 92 dB and so on. The higher the sensitivity the louder they play and much better for your stocks.

You can also upgrade your sound system into dB w/o changing the head unit. Youll just need a factory expasion system. With this you can add up to two DVD, iPod, satellite radio, three amplifier and more the best thing w/ this expasion system you can incorporate your factory stereo tuner, CD player and volume control.

6.5" refers to the size of your door speakers.

Have your doors deadened as well for better midbass since the FD's doors are pretty hollow.

Try mo muna mag audition sa mga nag install ng car sound system para marinig mo ng actual at kung anong hanap mo sa speaker para may idea ka. may mga naka set up naman sila.

    Component speakers: (front speakers only)
    1. JL AUDIO-Evolution ZR Series Component Speakers
    2. ALPINE Type-X PRO Component Speakers
    3. POLKaudio SR series Component Speakers.

If full range speakers are suited to you, buy the Infinity kappa 63.9i or the Pioneer TS-A 1782R. Both this speakers a very highly detailed and not pricey. Youll gonna like the sounds on it.

sir, how much is your budget for the speakers?

for the price range around 8-9K you may try to audition focal access or morel tempo.
price range around 15k meron dyan focal vr or hertz hsk.
pag 50k up pwede din micro precision 5 series or seas lotus.

i'm setting aside about 30k. kaya bang i-drive ng unamplified stock HU ng kotse ko yong focal vr or hertz hsk?

to reiterate, i'm looking for good sounding separates to be driven solely by my stock HU to avoid voiding my car's warranty.

BTW, balak kong palitan yung JBL BASS PRO na subwoofer sa Tucson ko. pwede kayang ikabit yong JBL bass pro sa stock HU ng civic FD ko?

thanks to all replies and suggestions!

Kayang i drive pero hindi mo makukuha iyong talagang ganda ng tunog ng Focal o Hertz sa stock na head unit kailangan Busugin mo ito at match sa wattage ng speaker mo. Pareho rin iya sa mga subwoofer para mapalabas mo ang bayo kailangan match ang Power Amplifier.

mataas ang sensitivity rating ng focal vr nasa 94.5dB. kaya yan i-drive ng stock HU. pero syempre hindi fully maximize yung potential ng speakers using the stock HU alone.

Where in Makati should I go to if I want deadening and upgrade my speakers? I'll retain the HU. I'm not music savvy, and my taste is just pretty regular, but I want a very cool sound quality. My front speakers just died down on me, so I'd rather upgrade than just replace.
