how big is the advantage of audio cds over mp3s now that there are already HUs out there that are mp3 capable?

there is a notable diff when i tried comparing it on my pc using an altec lansing atp5 speaker. and audio cd is still the way to go IMHO for audiophiles.

The advantage of Audio CDs is the sound quality, and as you noticed on your PC, it's quite big. If you're the type who would like to hear everything as it was recorded or mixed at the studio, and want it faithfully reproduced by your sound setup, go for CDs (or vinyl records even!).

The difference is more noticable on high end systems.

On the other hand, if you want lots of music on a single disc and don't mind some signal loss due to compression, go for mp3.

agree. mp3 playback quality is dependent on the file's bitrate. Pero IMO its better if you are MP3 (and WMA) capable.

WMA sounds better than a 128kbps MPR, but they kinda even themselves out pag 160kbps yung MP3 file.

....plus kung mp3, you can customize your playlist...no need to bring your whole collection with you. just burn the tracks you like
