i plan to upgrade my stock speakers para maging mejo SQ.
i'm leaning towards a 10" or 12" sub pero i dont know what to get? could you make suggestions for the mentioned speakers as well? my budget will be around 15-20k for all three. tnx!

dude...these subs are what i am using right now...although...kaya ko binibenta is because hindi ko na talaga nagagamit...

the amp has only 2 channels...thats why for sub lang talaga siya...you have to buy another one for the seps, though.

ssaloon... if you're opting for SQ and for your 20K budget, here are some suggestions:

    1. Seps - if you're on a budget, you may use Targa seps... yes, you heard it right :D . Targa seps! contrary to what others say, targa seps is an excellent performer... :P it sounds the same as other high end speakers, plus it has a lifetime service warranty. the 2 way TX series wud cost you approx 2200 and the cheaper X series is around 1300k. but if you wud like to get expnsive brands such as MB Quart, prepare 7k for the 2 way. there are still other seps there like Kicker, Dynaudio and the polykevlar with the last 2 being the best performers wud actually cost you big

    2. Subs - Again... Targa 12" is 1500k... kicker CompVr, L5 and L7, just dont know how much they actually cost. BTW, since you are for SQ, a single sub would already do... that was also my question b4, i was confused whether to get 2 pcs or settle for a 1 pc. dont worry, a 1 pc sub can already give you the bang you want for your bass provided, you didnt compromise actual specs for it.

    3. Amps - a 4 channel amp with a built in crossover can already drive your whole system assuming that all you want are the front seps and the subs. this is already enough to give you a good sounding system... well for me ok na sya.

These 2 amps already has a built-in crossover and has 4 channels

Alpine V12.. ahhh... the ever famous and used amp  this one wud cost you roughly 4800 for the taiwan version... 17-19 K for the original...

    FENTON FA4300 - roughly 4500

VOILA!!! :P :P :P okay na... cguro the next thing you wud want to buy is a descent HU with a 4V pre-out (tama nga ba yun? )... Alpine is good

still, ikaw pa rin ang masusunod whether you wud want to get a more expensive brand... pero i wud suggest na try saving more... konti na lang and mas maganda pa ang makukuha mo... patience lang... para di ka magsisi

    sana nakatulong ako.... :D

    peace!

ah ok... SQ or Sound Quality.. this is basically the other half of SPL  or Sound Pressure Level... alam ko may iba pang tawag sa SPL pero i forgot na...

SQ - this is the clear sounding audio setup... basically pang loob lang ng car yung nakakarinig but there are SQ setups na ang lakas and ganda tumunog... sorry di ko masyado ma define eh... ehe :?
SPL - eto yung bayo-bayo or yung BOOM-BOOM

Seps - shortcut for separates... these are speakers usually installed infront of the car cabin (doors and dashboards) to replicate a live performance - frontstaging. usually for SQ setups, front lang talaga ang nilalagyan then we eliminate the rear but for some, they place coaxial speakers (pair) for the rear fill just to balance the cabin sound for the rear passengers.

ssaloon and kiper dudes, if you guys want.. you can attend the KAC EB this Feb 1... there you'll see different kinds of setups... from SQ :D to the head crushing SPLs  pero most of the setups ther are SQ.

    :D

Seps - shortcut for separates... these are speakers usually installed infront of the car cabin (doors and dashboards) to replicate a live performance - frontstaging.
In addition to that... separates are 2-way or 3-way speakers with each component separate from each other. For 3-way seps, you have a pair of tweeters, a pair of midrange speakers, and a pair of dedicated midbasses plus a pair of passive crossovers. For the 2 way set, you have a pair of tweeters, a pair of midrange/bass speakers, and a pair of passive crossovers.

This gives you the flexibility to improve the front soundstage since you can put the other components off-axis and angle them to suit your musical needs. Although other schools of thought say that coaxials and triaxials do more justice at reproducing music because the components are on axis making the sound reach your ear at the same time.

    :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

    I prefer seps

    ssaloon,

just get the separates set, it already comes with tweeters and crossovers that are well matched with the midbass/range speakers.

    kupaloo,

you can fire your subs towards the trunk. if you think doing this wont make you hear the sub, you may want to attend the EB on feb1 at the fort. you're in for a surprise!

what i plan to do is the ff. kse:

    - get a new HU
    - get new midbass and seps (kasi basag na)

tapos kahit la munang amps and subs for the meantime, fader ko nalang mga stock 6x9's ko para sa bass... ayos lang ba to??

    hhhhmmmm...

Seps already come with midrange/midbass speakers. For the 2way set, you get tweeters, midrange/midbass speakers, and crossovers. For the 3way set, you get tweeters, midrange speakers, midbass speakers and crossovers. No need to buy a separate pair of midbasses.

Check out the websites of the seps you are planning to purchase to get an idea on what's included in the set.
