    Fellas,

    Patulong naman pls.

After mamula at magmuta ang mga mata ko kakabasa ng maraaaming "nakakabusog" na threads on audio, e na realize ko rin ng mas malinaw na kung ano kelangan ko for my AUV.

Before balak ko powered sub lang kaso since nalubog sa baha at inabot ang speakers e nalusaw o nadurog ang foam surround ng 5.25 front spkrs ko.

Target Upgrade (so far): wattage and brand pls...
    1. 4-way Amp (2nd hand is OK lang)
    2. Front seps
    3. 10" sub (the smaller the box, the better)

Around 10 thou lang sana ang budget ko. I'm satisfied with my HU kaya no need to upgrade isa pa sayang namn kc matatambak lang sa bodega.

My appreciation to those who could help/provide/recommend specs.

(sana wag abuting ng taon bago may maka reply d2, hahaha)

    salamat.

10T...hmmm. How much wattage is enough for you? The higher the wattage, the higher the price. How much space is available for your subs? 8" subs can also give clearer bass response similar to 10". So, the lesser the diameter, the smaller the box. When choosing speakers consider only the RMS as your reference in determining the effective power requirement.

    salamat...

+/- 100w rms i think is enough. cge i consider 8" sub kung halos same lang din ang output. palagay ko nga higher than 100w e malakas na considering we're talking rms. before kc kinonsider ko ang blaupunkt ODsb8000 powered sub kaso majority among tsikoteers suggest seps so go na rin ako kc it makes a lot of sense. so sa sub, about the size of ODsb lang sana.

If possible, look for speaker with given manufacturer's specs. especially the box internal volume (if you consider using sealed type enclosure). Out of this you'll be assured of getting optimal performance of your speaker. In general, quality made subwoofers (that is, Bose, Blaupunkt, Kicker, Boss Audio, Infinity, JL Audio, JBL, Soundstream, Phoenix Gold, OZ Audio, Orion, MTX, MA Audio, Lightning AudioLanzar, Lenwood, Alphine Absolute and many more) are designed for minimal box volume requirement for optimum bass reproduction. Locally made speakers Dai-ichi, Micro...) are 3 to 4 times the volume to achieve the optimum bass. One criteria in choosing speakers is the diameter of the voice coil. The bigger the voice coil diameter, the better the bass it can deliver. For 8" speaker, voice coil with diameter 1.5" or higher is good for good bass reproduction.
If you are interested in designing subwoofer enclosure, open the thread " Ported or Sealed, which do you prefer..."

Besides, malaya nga talaga for future upgrade with a 4-way amp.
