gamit ako now s12l5 powered by old alpine na amp yung black na DUO B circuit, 150x2rms, not bridged kasi dapat 2 amp na black alpine gagmtin ko kaya 4ohmdvc binili ko na sub, pero naka stereo lang sa isang amp parang pumipitikpitik na yung sub, i tried using 2 amps on it mukhang bibigay na yung sub...kala ko 600wrms rated tong s12l5? mataas pa naman expectations ko dito, gamit ko aksi dato 2 12inch na kicker competition c12a, powered by these 2 amps and ok naman...=)

opinions namna tungkol sa s12l5...

btw tama lahat ng wiring and gain settings ng amp (magkapareho and 3-1 ratio.) installer din kasi ako =) hehehehe hindi lang tlga ako satisfoed dun sa sub....btw 2.5 cuft. yung box +port...to spec sa kciker...pero yung port hinabaan ko para maging 35hz yung tuning...(slotted ports)

maki, did you tried using an amp na mataas if not ka match niya in power ratings baka gumanda siya like the KX600.1 or the LA Strike S2.600.2 or the likes... :D

haven't tried using other amps na kapareho rating...alam ko lang kasi underrrated tong mga alpine na to... kaya nde lang 150rmsx2 lang output nito, pero nde ko expect ganun kalakas na kaya ma drive ng sagad yung s12L5, i tried yung rf punch 50ix ko dito and punch 75 hd, (rated 50x2 and 75x2 respectively)ok tunog pero not as loud..nde niya nasasagad yung sub so nde pumipitik...=)yung punch 75hd very clean amp...but yung old alpine cleaner amp! hehehehe mataas yung rail voltage kaya malaki yung headroom kaya malinis 2munog heheh kaya i know nde nagcliclip yung amp...sub lang tlga bumibigay... tnx sa rep

btw yung black alpine amp 300x1 bridged so nung 2 ginamit ko na amp, in PAPER magkarating cla....tnx

o nga, supposedly 600w yung RMS ng S12L5. RMS pa lang, so dapat me headroom pa yang sub. gusto mong i-test sa KX800.4 ko?

actually, kung KX800.4 ko naman nakakabit sa 10w3v2. if figures are to be believed, it's 400w RMS mono bridged sa amp vs. 300w RMS sa sub, so on louder and harder beats (like joe's i wanna know), napapapitik ko yung sub. right now, i'm trying it in stereo and ok naman, so i'm thinking about wiring the dvc in stereo.

ang S12L5 ratings: 50-600watts RMS. so if you feed it with 600 w RMS, medyo maxed out na sya.

i think 600w fits the bill like looney_loey's suggestion. ang mahirap kung near or exact or excess of its total peak power of 1200w.

oo nga eh...kahit ako nde ako naniwala nung 300wrms lang pinasok ko sa sub parang may pumipitik na...to think na malinis pa 2munog yung alpine na yun...(alpine black series duo b circuit 3544) bass cd pala pang test ko...=)

Teka pre, d ba matched dapat ang amp na 600w RMS and output sa sub na 600w RMS ang power handling, since pareho naman silang RMS?

amp ko is 300wrmsx1 at 4ohms, so plano ko kasi dati 2 amp gagamitin ko (2 pareho na alpine 3544) kaya dual 4ohm ginamit ko...tapos una try ko gamit one amp lang na naka stereo kasi til 4ohms bridged lang kaya ng amp ko...pero parang pumipitik na yung sub and may distortion, kala ko nagididstort na yung amp...kaya try ko gamitin yung 2amp setup na plano ko tlga...pero parang umaabot na sa mechanical limits yung sub and pumipitik and may distortion din...heheehhe

btw nakita din ng frend ko na may s12L7d2 naman na unang model...gamit niya orion hcca225 to power the sub at 1ohm mono (at 1 ohm 400x1 ang rating ng orion,but i doubt na yun lang output power nun...hehehe mga arn 500 or 700 cguro...) sabi niya sa akin never daw niya nakita yung sub niya na ganun kalaki excursion....hmmmmm

maybe its the amp. its not able to go down or be stable at 2ohm bridged mono. your sub is dual 4 right?

since the sub rating is UP TO 600 watts RMS and your amp gives out 600 watts RMS also, then the sub is already getting evrything it can handle! get it? =)

50-600 RMS watts means it can handle a minimum of of 50 watts and a max of 600 watts RMS.

wala nang headroom sa 600 RMS rating ng sub mo kasi youre also feeding it an RMS rating of 600 watts. 8O

most 2ch amps i know di kaya mag mono below 4ohm when bridged. it does'nt mean it can't do it but its just not recommended coz something might go wrong.

did you link up the two alpine amps to produce 600w? parang 2 rf 500db's could produce 1000w via BD Sync Cable?

i didnt wire it to 2ohm mono naman eh...i have 2 same amps...dual 4 cya so i wired i4ohm bridged each amp...one coil per amp...kaya 4ohm lang..not 2ohm

yeah prolly reaching 600wrtms wid amps..pero bakit pag 1 amp lang tapos naka stereo..(not bridged) pumipitik pa din...hmmm(the sub should only be getting 300wrms...)

i didnt wire the sub to present a 2ohm load to the amp...i did not bridge it while using one amp only...nakastereo...so 4ohms each channel and load (1 coil per channel)

suggestion lang po.
u may use Lightning Audio BOLT series model B350.1
it is a mono amp 350watts RMS x1 at 20hms mono.
run ur L5 sub parallel to 2ohms then into the LA amp. Gud nato!!!

ndi ganung kasimple gnawa mo e. if u did use 1amp per voice coil, it is safe as long as u use vu meter to check each gain ng amp kng parehas ang out put. ndi kc pwede basta todo gain ng both amps. inaccurate parin kiahit both amps same brand and same model. ndi pareho ang out put ng isang amp to the other. kunyari, ung 1st amp mo naka set ang gain sa half, so vertiacal line ung makikita mong guhit sa knob, then ung second amp ganun din. pag chineck mo yan sa vu meter, may pagkakaiba parin ang power output. e ung dual voice coil ng sub mo, dual coil nt built separatelt but its made in only 1pole piece. pag iba ang output ng amps, imagine mo kilos ng coil na L5 mo... panu gagalaw ng matino? gets? its nt easy just tapping both amps to both coils. i wld strongly recomend u use a bigger amp atleast 400w rms or highest at 600w rms that is capable of bridging to 2ohm load mono. 2ohms kc dual 4ohms ung sub mo e.

kx400.1 class D 2ohm mono amp
kx600.1 class D 2ohm mono amp
rf power 500bd class BD amp 2ohm mono amp
LA B350.1 class A 2ohm mono amp
ORION HCCA225 class A 2ohm bridged

i used a 60hz sine wave to simulate an AC signal na nagngagaling sa outlet ng bahay, then i used a digital VOM to meaure the output and set the gain....

just try a different amp with higher rms... you may want to have your alpines checked, IMO. :mrgreen:
