August 31st, 2004 06:48 PM #11happy, i strongly advise against getting an active sub. sayang lang pera mo. trust me, i have been tweaking my car stereo for the past ten years. even if you get the cheapest amp and sub combo, it will sound much better than an amplified sub.
the main market of the amplified sub is in first world countries where labor and installation is very expensive. so ito ang do it yourself solution. eh, dito sa pina, mura lang ang labor and install, go for the separte amp and sub na lang.

September 1st, 2004 12:09 PM #13pare, i suggest you shop around sa kotseaudioclub or here sa classifieds for 2nd hand subs and amps.
you could probably get a sub for 1500 and an amp to drive it for 3000 pesos. add 2500 for box and labor to install, total is P7000 and you will sond much better than a P7000 amplified sub

Active subs will cost much cheaper than seprate ampli+sub & box setups. Downside is there's no room for any upgrades incase you decide for more boom out of it. Except to sell the active box and revert to luckytruck's plans.

I also prefer silver. hindi halata na madumi na and some imperfections like faded color and slight...
