power antenna

good afternoon pipol. yun power antenna ko ay hindi na smooth ang pagbaba--medyo meron ingay (parang nahaharos) pagmalapit na siya sa ibaba. and meron pang nakausli na about half inch pagbaba when off na engine. ano kaya naging problem nito? how to bring it back to normal/smooth operation? TIA

You can try lubricating the shaft with either oil or grease.

If you have good access to the motor of the antenna, you can also try openning the "reel" part and checking if the plastic "reed" inside the antenna is still in good condition and properly lubricated with grease. If not, add more grease to help protect it from accelerated wear & tear.

sir any power antenna po ba iisa ang systema nya? honda ESi po sa akin ayaw na din mag all the way down may natitirang half.

When the power antenna mast no longer retract fully, it means that the part where the toothed plastic cable meets the telescopic mast (circled in the pic below) is either bent or its teeth worn down. Nothing can be done except to wait for the cable to fully break away and buy a refill (again, refer to the pic), or replace the whole assembly.
