    'Just heard on the news:

Starting next week, the MMDA would be apprehending vehicle owners who are swerving left and right or snaking on the road. The MMDA would also be apprehending vehicle owners who play loud music on their vehicles while on the road. The penalty: P 2,500 fine and/or the suspension of the driver's license for one year. For succeeding offenses, the MMDA is mulling on the idea of blacklisting the driver so that he/she can't get a driver's license anymore.

This new MMDA ruling applies to types of motor vehicles on the road e.g. PUVs, private vehicles and motorcycles.

Apparently, the MMDA has been receiving complaints from "concerned motorists and public commuters" about vehicles swerving/snaking like crazy on the road and about vehicle owners that play loud stereo music while on the road.

Meron ba subjective issues sa MMDA? Apprehended ka agad if they think, repeat if they think, your vehicle sound is louder than their own whistles. Ganyan ka notorious ang MMDA.

Even in the US, "loud audio systems" is very subjective. Some states have a maximum allowed decible rating but no equiptment issued to the police to actually measure it so enforcement is not possible.

this would end up as another kotong law...

I think they're targeting passenger jeepneys which have those extremely annoying PA-type speakers playing ridiculously loud music.

ang maganda lang yata nilang naisip ngayon ay yung lifting ng coding starting today hanggang Jan. 1, 2006.
