im a beginner with audio setup. just got myself 2 8inch subs for a lesser price, but it seems that bass sounds flat and soft.

would wish to have one solid...rocked...hard pumping bass.

Do you have an amp for your subs? At what settings do you have it on for your subs?
I kinda like my sub pounding soft with slight hardness. that Tog Tog sound. If its too hard..it doesnt sound like music anymore. I start soft..starting at 30hz..then i work my way up slowly until I heard some "Tog tog!" then I turn it up a little bit more. And that's where I usually like it.

Based on my ears, one 12 inch sub eh talo yang two 8 inches. Anyways, dami ring possibilities, like:

Box type (slot, ported, abc? include dimensions as well)
Tono (might check the amp kung meron at baka naka-HPF ung sub mo, also, try increasing the bass gain more than your speakers if you want the solid bass, kaya lang less masakit sa tenga pag masobrahan)
Subwoofer type (as mentioned above, may iba talagang soft ang tono ng bass)

    etc...

Sub positioning could also be a factor. Whether you rear or front fire it. Rear in most sedans are better. But, I have mine front firing now with rear seats down. I'm just experimenting with different positions. In my experience, front firing, seats down, windows closed...You can't feel the bass outside. But rear firing, seats up, windows up, you can feel the bass. Front firing with windows down..thats a whole different story, you can really feel the bass and hear it outside.

Just play around with the amp settings, til you get your desired sound. But, it also could be your amp or your subs limiting the sounds you are looking for.

Tama ka bro. Depende din sa music. If I play some rock songs, I hardly get any bass. But when I put on my cdr full of hip hop music/rap/r&b, that's when I feel it.

1 factor nga ang recording ng music, may talagang malambot without the
help of crossover meron namang kahit anong baba na ng freq matigas
talaga. much better kung may crossover. the rest bass - mid - treble
    control na lang.

    You can try the following:
    1. Get a good box. Make sure edges are sealed so air does not escape.
    2. Give your subs plenty but not too much power.
    3. Make sure your phasing is correct.
    4. If you can, put the sub and box in the front of the car.
    5. Since you have 8 inchers, if you can, put them in the front doors and sound deaden the hell out of your doors. Hard to do but will give you one heck of a customized system. This will only work if your subs can run as free air subs.
    6. Set your gains properly.
    7. Set you crossover points correctly.

based on my audio gurus here:

    hard pumping bass depends on:

    the specs of ur sub(s)
the type of box - usually recommended snailbox for streetbase
    the specs of the amp
genre of music? hehe rnb / hiphop?
the specs of the HU and ksama rin ata un settings sa HU - db "decibels" mid-low-high..sub lvl- mga ganun...

umm correct me nlang if im wrong... newbie rin ako e :D

add mo din yung bass boost and bass control...

and most important: yung kuryenteng pumapasok sa set mo.. if kulang ang nahihigop or nahihigop nun... kulang ang BOOM BOOM mo....

wala ka dapat aasahang bass sa rock music. kung magtetest, dapat hiphop, rnb or rap. try "im in love wit a stripper".
