Mga Sirs, Do low frequencies need to pass the EQ or it doesn't matter and just tap straight from the sub preout of the HU?
I want to use the sub control feature of the HU, but sadly my trunk mounted EQ only accepts a pair of rca's (input). The EQ however has 2 pairs of rca outputs. My sub amp doesn't have a remote bass knob hence the reason for buying an HU with sub control capability. Currently, both amps are connected to the EQ but I need control of the sub volume since not all music require bass. In short, will sound quality suffer if the low frequencies are not tweaked?

Yes sir, pag meron kang EQ drive, mas maganda make it pass trough there, speacially low end lang head unit mo, anu po ba yung EQ nyo, anu po yung output, front and rear, or front and sub output, ilang band po ba yan, 8band or 16 band? marami po kase klase e. Pag kase galing sa head unit lang, pag sinabi mo kase na low end lang, i think 2 volts lang sub output ng head unit mo, and, hindi mo masyado ma filter yung mga low frequency cut off unlike using an eq drive na merong 16 band or 36 band equalizer, para din po kaseng signal amplifier ang equalizer e, it boost the frequency na kelangan in tuning significant figures in audio system, lalo na in car audio, every side has a different curves and responses..

TY sir Tsikotshop. Oldschool lang kasi mga gamit ko. LA sound 1026 13 band for each channel (26knobs), it has 1 pair input and 2 pairs output (front/rear). Audiocontrol 4xs xover, Audiocontrol system 90 model 20 amp and a Single lang na 12" targa sub in a sealed box. I'm afraid na pag ginamit ko yung xover feature ng Pioneer e baka di maganda ang bayo and wala kong way na matimpla sya since di na sya dadaan ng EQ. I've heard Targa subs kasi have the reputation for having a stiff suspension at matakaw sa box. I've decided not to use the sub control ng Pioneer at gumawa na lang ako ng sub control that will go between my Xover and sub amp. I tested my DIY bass knob sa amp ng High's ko and ok naman. I hope it works with my sub as well. Thanks again sir Tsikotshop, at least I know now na dapat talaga idaan sa EQ both hi and lo frequencies.

Di naman po magiging overkill kapag gumamit ka pa nung overdrive or line driver e, you just magnifying the signal for more clearer picture, wag lang po sosobra sa limit, just below the clipping signals, ok yan, lalo na Phoenix gold, claro ultimo yan sir, he he.
