help please - how to test my amp

hi

nakabili ako ng second hand na alpine amp. di ako sure kung orig un kasi di naman ako makahanap ng manual sa net.

it's labeled as alpine 4000watts.

anyway, gusto ko lang malaman kung panu masasabing "working" pa un amp.
i tried to supply it with 12VDC adaptor pati ikabit xa directly sa car batt.

di kasi umiilaw un power led nya at all.

any help or assistance will be appreciated.

Usually amps have a power wire that taps into the head unit, such that when the HU is on, that's the only time the amp will switch on as well.

di pala pwede using power supply lang???

Itetest mo lang ba kung nag-o-on, hindi kung gumagana yung amp? Puwede kasing nag-o-on pero sira naman yung amp circuit so either garbled or walang signal sa speaker terminals. You will need speakers as well, or an oscilloscope in place of the speakers.

I suppose you can force a DC signal into the power switch cable, di ko lang sigurado kung anong voltage. But then you need a line level source. If you have an oscillator with RCA outputs then I guess that will work too.

yup, as of now, primary concern ko lang ay kung nag-o-on un amp thru the power LED. Nag try na kasi ako magsupply using 12vDC adaptor pati narin i-connect directly sa car batt, pero di ko nakikitang umiilaw un led.

second hand ko lang kasi nabili un, kaya power muna ang concern ko, after nun, un performance naman.

salamat ulit sa advice. try ko muna un mga suggestions mo.
