mga bossing, let us assume na newbie ka pa lang at meron kang nabiling 2nd hand tsikot pero walang stereo and speakers, pano mo sisimulan magset-up, diy, ng sounds kung gusto mo magkaroon lang ng mapapakinggan while driving?

what specs should you look for in a car stereo if your budget is only around 5k?

I wouldn't worry about the rear speakers muna. Worry about your headunit, and speakers up front. headunit with MP3 player can run you less than 5k, Pioneer's 2950. Seps, you can use Targa seps, mine cost me P1,350. Wires and install isn't really a problem, since, it should be pretty easy install. You'll spend no more than 6k if you go 2950 and Targa Seps up front.

With the Pioneer HU, I went with KS-series kickers upfront with tweeters (magkasama sila) so no need to buy them individually. THen after that when budget permits, kickers 3-way speakers (mid-range,round-type) sa rear. I have clear and enjoyable sounds when driving and especially pag-traffic.

5k for HU? there are entry level Pioneer HUs at that price. MP3 capable na yun. also, look for the entry level nung Sony Xplod. As far as i know, mga 4200 pesos ata sya.

sa rear speakers, 6 x 9 ang ilagay mo. afaik, may ganyan din ang pioneer. mga 3.2k ata per set.

kung may sobra pang budget, targa separates sa front.

for 5K, you can get a pretty decent HU from Raon (Proline brand). Proline has several models under 5K that has a CD player already and a 3-band EQ. Some even have built-in boosters/amplifiers.

For speakers under 3K, Raon is also the place to go. You can get a 50-60W 3-way coaxial speakers for 2.8-3K - Proline or Micro brand.

I'd go with Pioneer 2950 or 3950 mp3 player with a good set of features and proven brand. Should fit your 5000 budget. Get Targa seps for your speakers and install them in the front. Leave rear fill for now. Next time you have some money, get a Fenton or V12 4 channel amp and a sub.
