Hi guys, san po ba usually nakakabili ng mga head unit DVD players for Prado? Gusto ko kasi lagyan ng DVD player sa front para makanood ng TV/movies, or CDs. Radyo lang at kopong kopong na cassette tape player pa yung nasa front panel ko..LOL!! our model is the J95. Ang mahal nung nasa sulit at hindi po ata pang j95 model yung nandun.

We put a Lightning Lab head unit in a 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 95 series. It's a 2DIN unit. Costs around Php13k in Banawe.

    I posted it at: http://tsikot.com/forums/car-audio-v...ad-unit-81452/

I usually go with Equinox head units for my rides but I've seen the Lightning Lab DVD head unit and I recommended one to my friend for his Land Cruiser Prado:

Lighting Lab DVD head unit on my friend's 97 Land Cruiser Prado 90:

So far, it's working great. This is the Php13k non-GPS unit. The GPS version costs Php19k. Had it installed by Jemson but the dealer (Richcar Banawe) will install it for free if you want.

It's a brand to consider when shopping for a China-made off-brand DVD head unit.

Or you can use a Soundlab head unit from Sulit.com (Roman Lao is the vendor). Asking price is Php9k (free delivery). That's what we used in the Jimny (also a 2DIN opening on its dashboard).

Thank you so much for these useful tips, sir OTEP. Ano po ba mas maganda, Soundlab or Lightning Lab? And as far as reliability is concerned, hindi po ba madaling masira ang mga china made? I do have a Garmin GPS on my phone. If I buy the head unit without GPS, will there be an option to upgrade later on? Ang ayaw ko lang kasi sa Garmin, mali mali ang way na tinuturo. Ang worry ko, baka ganun din ang Garmin map na pinagkuhanan dito? Just wondering.

Nothing is perfect. Yung Equinox HU ko na una, nasira ang FM tuner. Yung soundlab sa Jimny, nagkaron ng slight rattle. Maybe because of how we drive it off road.

My father uses Lightning Lab with GPS. There was a time it refused to read DVD's. It was repaired by the shop that sold the unit.

The Lightning Lab on the Prado has been performing well up to now.

If you get one without GPS, it will not be possible to upgrade later on. So better get one with GPS if you want GPS.

You can also add a rear camera on all head units with monitors.

The Prado has a 2DIN dash opening. Any 2DIN head unit will fit.
