I had the first hand encounter with boybi's 7550, first the display is more attractive according to my taste than the 7450. Second, 7550's MP3 playback and skip track is much... much quicker by 4-5 seconds than the 7450 unit.

Auto volume control is active on the present model, this eliminates the sudden surge of volume when left at highs before shut off.

If compared between the two units, I'd switch to a 7550.

What about compared to the 8450? How fast does it read MP3s?

The 7550 uses a new re-designed CD mechanism (S10MP3) which allows faster access time of MP3. The MP3 access time is faster than the 8450.

Compared to the 7450, the 7550 has 4V out and WMA capability
