good day everyone! i would like to ask your opinions because im thinking of putting a budget friendly sound system on my ride a 2001 toyota revo i came across 2 shops already and asked for their suggestions 1 shop is at fort bonifacio (tsikot) their suggestions are 2 x 15 and 1 mono amplifier to drive it and the box will be walled but the problem is the subwoofers are way out of my budget.. i forgot the brand but it costs almost 16k a piece. the next shop is areneta car accessories i was able to talk with the owner and suggested to put 1 15 inch lightning lab subwoofer and 1 mono amplifier thunder audio , i already have a headunit a pioneer 7250sd and targa seps.

question is what can you say about the lightning lab subwoofer (the magnet looks huge!) also the thunder audio amplifier.

or sundin ko suggestion ng mga kaibigan kong may sounds din sabi kasi sakin mas malakas daw marami kahit mababa ang wattage tutal naman daw malaki ang space na pwedeng paglagyan, napaisip din ako dun kasi yung isang 15 inch is parang pang 4 pcs na 12 inch na targa subwoofer since hindi naman po ako sasali sa competition more on self satisfaction lang ano po masasabi niyo? will i go for the 1 15 or 4 x 12 po?

    any suggestions welcome po.

    Thank You!

    suggestion lang po.. :sweat::sweat:

Obviously, 4x12 would be louder as it provides more usable cone area. However, you'd have to factor in the additional cost of drivers, what will power it, who will design the box, etc. into consideration. A single driver such as a 15" subwoofer would be more simple of course.

Gapang bass is more of a characteristic of proper box design rather than the subwoofer driver itself. Google "ported box tuning" for more information.

As for which drivers, 4x12 will win over any single 15 incher hands-down. You can move more air while the drivers has less vertical excursion - this is the huge advantage of more surface cone area. The question now is whether you can properly provide ample power or not.

JBL GT5 subwoofers are actually very good. A lot of their features are trickle-down features from their highly rated GTi W12 subwoofer. You're getting a lot for a cheap price and it's one of my favorite budget subwoofers in a decibel match.

sir re. JBL GT5 CAN i pair a 10" GT5 at isang 12"? yung 10" sa gitna nakalagay yung 12 sa Harap...

Something like 500W upwards is preferred. I believe busog na yun GT5 with around 300W of power.

And you can always pair any subwoofer naman eh. There's no such thing as impossible in pairing 10" sa 12" although going 2 10" and 2 12" for uniformity's sake is also better for the eyes.

As for the dimensions, can't help you there. Try googling a ported box calculator since that's how shops compute theirs (and through their experience)
