40 amps fuse should be ok.

^ Recommended Power and Ground Cable Sizes & Speaker Wire Size and Length

Electrical Wire Sizes - What Size Electrical Wire Do I Need - although dito naman reco is 45A nga as per you're indication.

Bakit po gauge 8? big three is actually gauge 4 minimum, the stock wiring is already ahead of gauge 8 or more than, the bottom line here is that "to maximize current plow", larger wire the better, i don't think gauge 8 do something there..
About fusing, it's not about the current ability of the wire, it's about the safety of the alternator, when your system needs larger current that the alternator cannot supply, the fuse is blow rather than the alternator,
You must read these and understand fully to make sense these big three.. http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubbthre.../312025/page/1, work these fully with no mistakes..

Damn, that is what my electrician mentioed, I forgot to bring the vehicle kasi and we just talked over the phone.

Papalitan ko na lang wire tom. Gauge 4 nga pala. Still I don't have the 100A yet. Hindi pa din puwede maunpisahan.

    I don't think gauge 8 can handle 100Amps, it's just too thin.

Real wires po is oxygen free wire, the higheir strands stands for the best quality wire and plexibility, pure copper wire delivers maximum current flow even in applied heat and cold extremes. Sayang, mahal nga lang ang mga branded tulad ng kicker, tsunami, conections from Hertz, and more, in our shop, i uses firland wires, firland since is pure copper but has a difference in number of strands like branded, but at the same time, it also perform like them, the pictures follows as sir jedi post what i did in his car, it's actually working today, as i did the big three followed by the replacement of the old power cables, wew, his car sound hear inside and out clearly.

Most use 4GA since it has a max ampere capacity of around 100+ I believe. So unless aftermarket alternator yan, you'd hardly benefit from gauge 1 or 0.

    Up natin.

i just notice na naputol un ground ko from chasis to engine. so I decide na upgrade na yung big 3.

I read yung Sound Convoy, and I called them. THey said na they are only using gauge 4 wire and enough na yun. I search sa net na better if gauge 0 or 2.

Meron sa sulit but 1k / meter daw yung gauge 0 nila.

    TIA for any info.

kung grounding dapat yung wires maikli lang...less than 1m from the battery.. the rest jumper wires na lang in between

For wire size, it depends on your your needs. In most cases, 99% of the population would be fine using gauge 4 (4GA/4AWG). Heck, I'm using a Big Two using 8AWG wires but I'm fine as it is (I estimate an increase from 13.8V to 14.1V if I'll do the whole Big 3 in 4AWG).

As for voltage drop, just worry on the distance your wire needs to run (longer distance = thicker wire) and amp load. If you're sporting an 18" subwoofer with a modified alternator, 1/0 AWG seems okay. But get your typical 500W setup and your stock alternator, there's NO difference in using 4AWG from 0AWG except the fact that the thicker wire is harder to wire around. Think of it like the analogy of a hose. Kahit gano kalapad yun hose (wire) mo, kung konti lang binubuga ng garden pump mo (alternator), it's pointless whether you get a thick one or a thin one.

my colleague have a 2003 pajero fieldmaster, his son had the stock HU changed with the newer model of HU (lightning lab 6.2" doble Din DVD) in one of the car audio shops in Banawe. all the stock speakers are intact at walang pinalitan na iba. the problem now is drained ang baterya kapag pinapaandar sa umaga. ibinalik sa pinagpagawan and wala naman daw makitang mali sa koneksiyon. the battery is new and they had the alternator checked in the mitsu casa and it is still ok, nagkakarga naman. if yung bagong HU ang problema, anong pwede nila gawin, is big 3 upgrade will solve it?

If everything remained the same, big three won't solve it. Something's wrong in your system that repetitively discharges the battery.. try to find who the culprit is. Most likely the shop is incompetent, have another shop check the wirings.

thanks sir jhnkvn. i'll inform my colleague to have their pajero wirings checked by a more competent shop.

Is there a shop in Makati that does this? If not, what are the really competent shops that does this?
