Yup, created the account for AppRadioLive. Also installed ECTouch, no go. Anyway, I'll just wait for Google's full support in Android Auto for Waze.
Anyway, just a different question. The stock HU in my wife's current-gen Altis does not recognize Spotify. Planning to get an X2850BT to replace it. Have you had experience using spotify on that HU?
I first saw the 2850 installed in my friend's car & I saw it had waze integration. I decided to have one for my wife's car. At first, the waze app didn't show in the head unit, & I couldn't figure out why.
Then when I had steering wheel done by seatmate, they disconnected the battery so as not to accidentally deploy the airbag. When it was connected again, the waze app already showed in the head unit. Maybe you also need to remove the terminals of the battery to reset your head unit & hopefully the waze app would now show (you need to open the waze app so pioneer would add it to one of their apps - see pic below).
For Spotify, yup it can integrate with the 2850 head unit. You can control it too via the head unit or steering wheel controls as well (see pic below).

Since i'm constantly in traffic - 4 hours a day back and forth. I'm seriously considering of having my altis installed a sound setup. I'm more into SQ but depends on the mood,i also listen to music (ex. animals - martin garrix). Variety of old songs to EDM is the music i'm into.
I've compiled my choices, i would like to have your opinion.
Pioneer x2850BT
Hertz ES250 10"
Morel Maximo Entry Level
DS18 EXEL 4CH AMP
= 40k all - 2MC audio - Prob is located at Binan laguna.
Pioneer x2850BT
Focal 165AS
Focal Sub 25AF
RF Prime AMP
= 50k all - 2MC audio
PIONEER x2850BT
DS18 CANDY 4CH AMP
DS18 6 "MIDS
DS18 TWEETS
SUB WORTH 10k
= 50k all - staunch audio
Pioneer x2850BT
Morel Maximo Entry Level
JL AUDIO 10" Sub worth 10k
JL AUDIO AMPLIFIER worth 11k
= 52k all made by Mickeys Autosound
I know all of them are great installer considering they're on the list of affiliated shops of EMMA. Just want to know which is the most bang for the buck, as my funds are limited (50k). I also prefer shops that accepts credit card.
I prefer this set-up:
Pioneer x2850BT
Morel Maximo Entry Level
JL AUDIO 10" Sub worth 10k
JL AUDIO AMPLIFIER worth 11k
= 52k all made by Mickeys Autosound
I don't know but Focal's sound signature is an acquired taste. To some it may be harsh and vice versa. So I choose Morel. But still, ymmv.![]()
Hello, my friend,i am a new comer in this forum ,this is my first time to post my ideas on it , and i am interested in your post , hope we can have more chance to communication .
Hi thanks for the response, do you think this could go loud as well? Not necessarily that i have to wake up neighborhood. With the 52k this also includes the 10k woodwork by Mickeys, i dont know how it looks though but i'm expecting this to be basic. I don't actually look for a fancy setup but a decent OEM style / a good looking box would do. Also i don't really load my trunk space that much.
Sorry for the late reply as I was on vacation mode yesterday.![]()
Yes, that system could go loud but of course you can lower down your volume so that you will not wake your neighborhood up.I think that it will be basic but you can ask the shop to make you a good looking one unless their boxes are already pre-fabricated.
Re: AltisAndMZ3FAN
Hmmm, interesting quotations you have there.
Some observations:
1. I see that Reo (2MC Audio) is leaning towards the DS18 amplifier. That's surprising as I was expecting him to push for a more well-reputed brand. This means that he's not brand-conscious of the amplifier and power... is power. His choice of amplifier, should it be the Excel line, should be the DS18 EXL A1K4.
2. Staunch, with Marbel at its helm, is predominantly ESQL/LnC focused. judging from the 6" mids and tweets, those are raw drivers. That comes as no surprise thanks to Marbel's history as he used to compete in EMMA's LnC category.
3. What interests me is Staunch's amplifier recommendation. The DS18's Candy amplifier is half the size of their Excel lineup but has more power packed in it according to its website. I feel this is impossible and DS18 has mislabeled it as a Class A/B amplifier when it's in fact a Class D amplifier.
4. Mickey's quote is classic Mickey's. What I dislike is the JL amplifier. It's probably a JL JX360/4 retailing at Php11.9k; problem is this amplifier has already been phased out being replaced by JX400/4 that utilizes JL's full-range Class D technology (of which they're one of the best in its implementation in the industry).
My opinion:
1. I'm surprised they're all in on the Morel's. I guess you can't really go wrong with entry-level Morels.
2. On the amplifier, I'm on the camp that's more power = better. I'm not a fan of DS18 -- they're no better than Chinese rebrands entering in the Philippines.
3. Then again, Chinese rebrands aren't bad at all. They dish out what's needed for the cash you pay for it. As such, go for it.
4. Among the subwoofer choices, I'm leaning on the Hertz. I love their subwoofers.
5. If I were to nitpick, I feel you're paying too much on the subwoofers. Those JL, Focal, and Hertz subwoofers are quality but they're also pricey. Personally, I'd rather save the Php2,000 difference of the Hertz and get a JBL GTO 10" subwoofer instead. Not only can you not hear the difference but the JBL is also superior in its rubber surround as seen in its excursion parameters.
Thanks for your reply, does the phased out JL amp has significant difference with the new one?
Another quote given by Reo of 2MC worth 50k is:
Pioneer x2850BT
Focal 165AS
Focal Sub 25AF
RF Prime AMP
I'm actually looking for a shop that provides an option to pay on credit card (GF couldn't track if you know what i mean).
Hmm, I don't believe so. To be honest audio's "improvement" throughout the years isn't what you call leaping like in the microprocessor industry. The minimum lineup I'd recommend sa JL Audio will be their 20k-ish xD amplifier lineup using Class D topology that trickled down sa HD-series nila.
For Reo's new quote, that's more preferable and more easily resell-able.
