    Good morning po.

    I have a question.

Im planning to have my car audio upgraded.

This is what they gave me for a quotation.

    Llightning lab am480
    Precision power seps 52.65c
    Precision power subs 12"
    Precision power coaxial
    Alpine HU with usb/aux
    E46 headunit panel
    Sealed enclosure box
    Audiomax wiring
    Installation and tuning

    All for 24,200

    Ok na po ba yan?

I just want quality sounds naman po. Nde yung talagang pang car show and competition.

    Thank you so much.

All DIY source out of parts and install. Granting that I won't be joining any sound competition, nor I want to be heard two blocks away, here's my super budget meal setup:

    Fronts: Targa X652C seps
    Back: Stock Clarion coax
    HU: Generic with USB/Aux/SD/RCA output
    Amp: V12 NV-10-A-480
Sub: 12" Directed Xtreme 400W in a sealed box

Got the amp bnew and the sub+box slightly used for 3.5k. The Targa seps is 1.8k. Install man-hours probably on 8-12, totally worth it. Hardest part was routing the cables, from the battery to the firewall, and under the carpet from the amp to the sub at the back. The Targas aren't wired to the amp yet, have to find longer wires to route from the doors, but the HU handles them pretty well.

    Sorry for the crap pic

Actually it was my first install... courtesy of Youtube For some pics, ahhh you need to do some imagination Don't like to post it since wires aren't neatly tucked in yet (still have to replace the wires from amp to sub with a 'proper' guage 10), also the seps aren't wired to the amp atm.

I like my setup more than my friend's (he has a Sony Xplod in a ported box and a Clarion 2DIN HU), it doesn't get low that much but it isn't muddy and I can clearly hear the beats music selection must've been a factor IMO

ahh... still in the process. ported box won't give pretty accurate throws unlike the sealed box can. ok yan sir, unti unti lang para busy sa idle time. Good luck on your project sir.

dapat hindi ko lalagyan yung car ko ng setup until may nakita ako sa sulit that sells on of my favorite amp kaya ayun na. just finished tuning it last night... ubos gas ko but worth it.

It's just harder to do so. But the statement is false.

A bigger subwoofer doesn't move any "slower" than a smaller subwoofer. Reproducing 30hz from a 15" driver with a 12" is the same.. it's simply the amount of back and forth motions you need to reproduce the frequency. 30 hertz is 30 hertz.

The reason why it's "inaccurate" for some is because they fail to tame the peaks of a ported box at its tuned frequency. The reason why many SQ enthusiasts go for sealed is because its 12db/octave drop goes hand-in-hand with the 12dB/octave increase of cabin gain at frequencies >80hz.

But for those who have EQ, get a driver and throw it in a ported box is the way to go. You enjoy the benefits of SPL, lower xmax, lower THD%, better power handling, etc.

I don't think you'll be needing coaxials at the back. Unless you're often a rear-passenger, a thousand saved is still a thousand.

Precision Power is a very old brand in car audio. Most consider them nowadays as shadows of their former glory days when their PPI Art series amplifiers were highly praised.

And yes, just get the Dominations.

If you don't mind me asking, who will be your installer for this project?
