basag basag na yung speakers at ayaw na magbasa ng cd yung HU ng ES ko, hehe. it's all stock from the factory pa kasi 2003 vintage.
what do you sound gurus suggest i do with my 10K? i'm more of a sound quality guy lang and i dont require bowel evacuating bass... yung tipong super clear lang para pag nakikinig ako kay pavarotti para akong nasa theater talaga (ginagawa ko ito pag nagmamaneho ng lasing, i suggest y'all try it haha).
4 speakers, 2 in rear, 2 in front, maybe a small sub and a new usb HU with mp3/wav/etc cd playing capability. kasya na ba 10K for somewhat branded items like pioneer speakers and sony/pioneer HU?
maganda ba talaga pag may amp and xover on such a puny, budget meals setup?
your thoughts naman gentlemen...

Best arm yourself with a simple setup consisting of a Pioneer HU (5-6k) and component speakers (4-5k). Don't go the amplification route, those costs too much. Just let the HU power it.
You may need to stretch that budget if you're going to let an installer install that. Around 1k cguro okay na

kung hindi amplified at di ka naman brand conscious eh tingin ko aabot yang 10k.
bili ka ng Pioneer kahit yung mga 3350ub lang nasa 5k pataas presyohan depende sa shop.
as for the speakers naman marami rin dyan kung ayaw mo mag butas ng sidings go ka sa same size ng stock mo pero if you want to make it louder a bit lakihan mo. (Targa is a Good brand of seps) kahit HU powered lang maganda narin at malakas.
about naman sa crossover at amplifier syempre mas maganda pag gagamit ka nyan kasi mahihiwahiwalay mo yung sound frequency sa mga speakers not to mention na lalakas siya dahil sa amplifier. (less stress to your Head unit)

Unless you're purchasing raw drivers, component speakers already comes with a crossover. Component crossovers are larger than coaxials. But coaxials also have crossovers smouldered in. The only time wala yan crossover is if (A) raw driver (B) full-range driver.
Targa has good potential. But needs proper EQ to really shine. Personally, I think it's best you jump to Morels since #1 rule is always to buy the "best" component speakers you can buy

April 27th, 2011 11:32 PM #6Option 1:
5K for Pioneer HU
5k for front seps (maganda na makukuha mo dito like ryan audio or mb quart)
Tapos sir, gamitin mo na muna yung old rear speakers mo kung pwede pa. Ipon ka na lang muna for brand new 6 x 9 rear speaker for the bass fill
Option 2:
5K for Pioneer HU
2K for Targa x652c seps for the fronts (ito gamit ko, ok naman bang for the buck)
3k for brand new 6 x 9 rear speakers
Tapos ipon ka na lang ulit for under the seat sub. meron ako nakita worth 3-4K. I think pwede na yun kung hindi ka naman bass head.
normally free naman na sa store yung install pag bumili ka sa kanila ng HU at speakers eh.

I'd suggest Pioneer DEH-5350UB [Flip-Face, CD/MP3/USB/iPod Stereo] - P7000. Then buy a good separate speakers (DLS, Focal, Cadence, RE, Auditor, JBL, Powerbass, etc) - at around P5000 for their entry level. Stretch your budget a bit and you'll have a good sounding system.

Although I wouldn't mind Pioneer speakers, I think Targa and then Kicker presents a good sound within a budget.
Underseat subwoofers are over-rated. In fact, subwoofers are overrated. For "normal" people, most bass you hear are from the midbass which should be around 100-300hz. Lower like 60hz is possible if it's a good set but you'll also need deadening, etc. to reach it.
Subwoofers play from 20hz to 80/100hz. A normal human's hearing frequency is from 20hz til 20khz. At the age of 4, perfect pa hearing mo so 20hz is a check. By the time nasa 20s ka na, your hearing degrades to around 50hz. By the time you have your first child, nasa 60hz na yan probably. Boom boom sounds? 80-100hz yan p're.
My point is that: rather than spending cash on a subwoofer, get better components or deaden your doors.
EDIT:
Focal's entry levels seps -- 165A1 Access should cost around 9k retail. 8500php after haggling.
I don't like DLS X-Program at all. IMO, best enter DLS at RS6.
Pioneers 5350UB should be around 6k retail. You won't really get an increase in sound quality versus the 3350UB. In fact, they look identically the same.
For the budget, I think I'll go for a Morel, Targa, or Dominations. I'd go for Dominations if you plan on building your setup in case you want more as you can easily pair this with an Dominations Atom and Dominations Dolt 8" sub.Last edited by jhnkvn; April 28th, 2011 at 12:35 AM.

My mistake. Entry level for this brands are P5000 and lower: DLS, Cadence, Powerbass, Auditor and I'll add Dominations.
To be exact,
DLS X-PROGRAM XSD62 - P4750
Cadence FXC 6K -P4800
Powerbass S-6C - P3000
Auditor RIP 165S - at around P4800
Dominations D’Lite component - P4,900
