^ Just be prepared that the unit may not be a real Android 8.0 unit. Most generic Chinese head units are just on Android 4.4.2 or 4.4.4 and masquerading as higher versions. Other than that everything usually works fine.

Medyo misleading nga lang yung title ng thread because what's being discussed here are Android head units that WILL NOT run Android Auto natively. You either need an additional dongle that enables AA and Carplay or use the screen mirroring app. You can, however, run Google Maps, Assistant and Music apps simultaneously in the background so parang AA na rin assuming your unit does not crash, overheat, run out of memory or suffer from defective NAND/eMMC issues.

may mga napanood naman na akong youtube reviews sa generic android HUs, compared several specs 1gb vs 2gb, octa vs quad core etc. kung di naman multitasking, wala halos HIT sa performance sa lower spec'd models.
That's the problem. To simulate Android Auto functionality kailangan mag multi-task yung head unit so you will have several active apps running simultaneously. The 1GB units slow down real quick. Minimum memory config is 2GB if you want a usable experience.
