May 22nd, 2013 02:23 PM #1one would think a small shop in parañaque with 1-series on their banner is a false ad ... but it was not
Maxiair Car Aircon Specialist
185-D Dona Soledad Avenue Betterliving Subd., Paranaque City
Tel: 8225531 / 09178557791 / 0917 551-9649 / 09228288703 / 0922-7682469
Store hours: 8:00am to 6:00pm Mondays-Saturdays
the a/c tech admitted he has not done any 1-series before yesterday but confidently assured me he can do it as he has done other bmws in the past, not to mention other euro cars, for the past ten years ... i reluctantly believed him
weeks earlier, my dealer refused to clean the stinky a/c (wtf?) ... it turns out the work is not for the faint-hearted! ... removal of the blower assembly required removal of whole dashboard
i almost had a heart attack when i saw what the tech have done to my car
will it start again? no errors? they don't even have a multitester for crissake!
meet Jomar Aumentado (09078339385)
the work lasted 12 hours (inculding 2 meal breaks) and when everything was put together, all i needed to do was reset the clock

This is also the shop where I bring my ride for aircon cleaning and maintenance. Another Denso shop (Maxicon) is located in President's Avenue, BF Homes but I go to this branch as they are more accomodating.

ive been to maxiair before, I bought a compressor for a mercedes we were restoring
When I went there, there was a Z-plate BMW X5, probably 2-3 years old being fixed, the dashboard was already in the sofa inside
Also a grey market Mitsubishi Eclipse, probably around 2005
*kinso Just asking, how much does a 1 series cost to maintain? oil change? yearly expenses? Im interested in buying a 2-4 year old 118i or 116i kasi

May 22nd, 2013 03:41 PM #6hehehe naalala ko jaguar namin crappy aircon and they always don't have parts even when you ordered it (casa) we sold it at a lost
since then never again
for ordinary cars kaya magkano? sa casa kasi 8-9 k plus the satisfaction that if something went wrong they would be the one liable for the parts kung 6.5 k din for the ordinary cars i would rather have the casa clean it
- just called them hehehehe 3.5 k for ordinary car ang palinis ng aircon damn that's way cheap casa or them...

oil change isn't costly, just the same as any other car using fully synthetic oil ... i replace every 10k km
yearly expenses is also similar to other cars
my e87 is now 8 yrs old ... over the years, i only had it repaired twice at my dealer ... first was battery, starter, and oil leak costing P90k ... and second second was engine error code, replaced valvetronic motor and sensor costing P48k
yes, it is expensive if you rely on the dealer service
but like my a/c trouble, if you source parts from third party and have it installed by a competent mechanic, the savings is substantial so in all honesty, i find maintaining a bmw isn't really that much costly compared to other cars

The shop has a 3-month service warranty and a 6-month parts warranty. They also accept credit cards. I bought my Accord's replacement compressor from them.
