nya. forgot about the pros .. . difference from my jap car is
. . .high speed stability. . . softer ride. . .excellent steering feel. . .short shift movements. . .its a driver's car basically ;) loved driving it a lot lalo na sa out of town trips
....tama ba yang nakikikta ko? a freeflow fireball type exhaust?
its a tanabe race exhaust, hehe di bagay sa bimmer i knowOriginally Posted by scarab

regarding the ecu, my friend ordered one from BMW in HK for less than 70K bnew shipped, so figure how much "patong" local manufacturers put.
also, in most cases, unless the ECU is literally fried, it can be repaired.
Parts for E36 are comparable to modern midsize luxury cars like Accord/Camry/Cefiro etc.
One thing you must look out for is the extremely annoying upholstery sa sidings that never fails to peel off and cracking weatherstrips.
well, that can be remedied by upholstery shops. . i kinda know where prestige subcontracts theirs ;)Originally Posted by theveed

how'd that happen?
after my ECU got damaged, some banawe people tried to fix it. i have no confidence in their method (which is to replace all obviously damaged capacitors and diodes). heck i could do better than that, i'm better-trained than them. anyway they failed to fix it.also, in most cases, unless the ECU is literally fried, it can be repaired.
however the BMW's use bosch motronic units, which i believe are much better-documented than the usual jap black boxes due to all the aftermarket stuff out there for it. so i would believe a *qualified* person would be able to fix them without hit-and-miss parts replacement.
mukha nga..Parts for E36 are comparable to modern midsize luxury cars like Accord/Camry/Cefiro etc.
caloyski: the issue is extra gastos padin yun that most other cars don't have to face.
nya. oo nga noh. didnt see it on that point of view . .Originally Posted by theveed
