good day to all tsikoteers.
i want to buy a pre-owned bmw. with a budget of 300k to 800k.
in your opinion what model, age and trim should i be looking into taking into consideration fuel economy and ease of maintenance.

you have a lot to consider bro. if your looking for small size i would suggest start looking for a 3 series e46 or e36 models and if your type is medium class look for e39's. e36's models are production from 1992 to 1999, 2000 up 2005 are e46's.now pag pinag compare mo yung dalawa, e36's mdls are much heavy ang body than e46's pero mas mabait when it comes to maintenance and maraming parts na readily available. pero ang e46 body naman mas magaang and of course mas modelo and mataas ng konti price ng parts than e36. nga lang maganda and ride in compare to e36. if you choose e36 look for a 320i or 325i only para hindi under power they are both 6 cylinders. kung e46 naman look for 318i yun okay na ang pwer nun. its a 4 cylinder engine. nmow as for the technician andyan si Dondie of euro_care to handle your precious car. his no. is 0923 558 7334 and 0919 639 1626. okay! by the way either of the two models, having a bmw logo on your steering wheel ang lupit talaga ng dating bro. nga pala im selling my e36 325i e private message mo nalang ako for details.

April 10th, 2010 07:13 PM #5sir kung gusto mo ung tipid talaga ung 2003-2005 BMW 316i pero manual yan.or kung gusto mo automatic then lage ka highway driving go for a E46 BMW 325i.mas better fuel consumption nyan pag highway drive than a 318i.ang 318i kase needs more pwoer to move than a six banger.malakas lng tlga sa gas ang 325i pag pure city drive .or mga e36.mas light body nila kesa sa mga e46

April 12th, 2010 10:08 PM #6with that budget, eto ang sa tingin kong pasok (sedan only and excluding touring/coupe/convertible):
3 series:
e30/e36 - all variants except m3;
e46 - 316, 318, 320, 323 and probably some 325 exec/ 318 msport. an imported 330i is currently for sale here in PH, I think pasok din sa budget though not sure if it's tax paid already.
5 series:
e28/e34 - all variants except m5
e39 - 520, 523, 525, 528 and 530 (last two variant depends on year)
if you're very concern with fuel efficiency and you're usually in the city, 316i will give you the best km/l. I own an e46 316i, 9 km/l mixed city and highway driving, 12 km/l on pure highway with hataw driving. definitely naiiwan ako ng mga vios, city o kahit anong japanese cars from standstill. different story if speed is 150+ kph na, tagal lang ng acceleration because of the very heavy body
i agree on getting a 325i (add more and get the msport variant) if highway driving. more power and yet fuel efficient at par or better than lower displacement engine kapag di stop and go.

Mukhang nakabili na ng BMW at nag eenjoy na mabuti kaya nakalimutan na tayo update dito... hehehe
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
