BMW 316i or 320i ?

Which one would you choose if you are given a chance to buy a 2nd hand car? Why or why not? Im pertaining to 97-99 model.

The 320i. I believe this is a 6 cylinder engine. For the balance and smoothness of a 6 and the "omph" of a 2.0 liter engine.

if youre looking for low gas consumption, better get 316i instead. i can get 10km/liter city driving with my 316i. although its underpower and cant outrun civics or corollas, over all performance is good.

320i ... The 316i is slow and doesn't have enought proper power to accelerate the heavy body of the 3 series. That also translates to higher fuel consumption in city driving (stop/go traffic).

I think if you have the budget any option, you go for the "better model" all things considered equal.
