piggyback ECU...car computer that runs on-top of the stock ECU. Normally, mass-produced cars are conservatively configured as cars manufacturers wont know exactly how the cars are to be used.
So kapag meron kang modification....to maximize the benefits, a piggy-back ECU can re-mapped air/fuel ratio...cam angle...ignition timing. etc....
You will be suprised sa pwedeng gawin with Avanza J series (K3-VE engine).
Not sure on the cam gear....wala sya sa plan ko for mods...
Im planning to put Unichip (30K sa speedlab including tuning).
But that is after I completed my 4-2-1 mander bent headers.
I've seen a dyno report kasi on 1.3 Avanza (malaysian forum if I remember it correct)....they were able to put additional 10-15hp on cold air intake+mandrel bent 4-2-1 headers...and that is without piggy-back ECU. What more if Unichip is to be installed...

Kahit may access ka sa Unichip UK (or Australia) ire-refer ka pa din nila kay speedlab. Wala rin akong ibang alam na marunong mag-tune ng Unichip maliban kay speedlab...meron ka bang alam na marunong mag-tune ng Unichip aside from speedlab?

also...according dun sa na-research ko...mas Ok daw na simulan ang headers/exhaust as it can add more torque/hp without effect on air/fuel ratio.
Kase kapag nag change daw to short ram or cold-air intake, naturally mas maraming air ang papasok....mas dadagdagan ng ECU ang fuel to attain the optimal A/F ratio...kaya dito papasok ung piggy-back ECU para i-control ung A/F mapping.
