Unless the "sandwich" material is a fiber glass, not the Styrofoam sheet.
They say it's a fireproof, bili ka ng maliit or kuha ka ng sample, try mo sunugin using a lighter, baka nga makatsamba...
kaya bili na lang tayo ng oem, hehe!!!

    Eto, nagtesting ako...
    http://youtu.be/EqMHDdbAaiI
The styro materials inside melted tapos nasusunog
The foil material still intact but brittles kapag nahawakan.

Aluminum is a good heatsink materials...meaning to say.
    Nag absorb eto ng heat.
Using double sided roof insulation, the side of insulation which is aluminum foil absorb heat.
saan nakadikit eto...sa hood...kung ang init ng hood under the sun i-absorb ng foil, doble na ang init, sa taas at sa ibaba....hehehe
let say walang init sa labas, ang init galing lang ng makina, the foil basically absorb the heat but the styro materials block the heat, ok eto at di na pupunta sa hood, but the styro material cannot stand extreme heat for longer time from engine, pangbahay lang eto....hehehe
Anyway, anybody here disassemble a gas range?
As you can see inside may foil, inside the foil is fiber glass, not styro. the purpose of the foil ay hahawak sa fiber and at the same time di madirect hit ang fiber sa init, nasusunog din ang fiber strand. paano nalang kung styro...

    Kaya, i'll go for oem

    Ps:
Re: sa roof top ng vanzy natin,
Bakit kaya di ginamit ng hapon ang aluminum foil roof insulation?
Mas madaling idikit eto...di kaya nagtesting sila?
Anyway habol ko nalang din eto...
Styro block not only the heat but also the moisture, if you are using it to your roof...
Mag karoon ng moisture buildup between under the roof and the diy insulator..
Meaning moisture + time = rust...

Sorry sa mga nag diy una nito.
I am not against sa ginawa nyo.
Lesson to learn eto sa mga na experience ko na....
    Yan lang po...ingat.
