I went to a shop to repaint my car which was involve in an accident. it involves two panels, the doors on th right side both front and rear. Now after getting it from ths shop, both panels was nicely painted and glossy as i have seen it...

However after more than a week, I notice among the repainted 2 panels, one is more glossy than the other, so i bring it back to the shop. the painter said " sir kulang lang cguro sa liha kaya di glossy, tapos rubbing na lang uli natin"

Guys or paint expert out there... what must have they done wrong for this to happen on my car? kulang kaya sa topcoat yan or what other can cause this? Thanks for helping me analyze what went wrong...

Damage repair... they have to let the paint settle a bit, then they have to buff it again. It's a common occurence.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

pasali naman, nagpahilamos ako ng sasakyan, sabi sakin nung head doon wag muna ibuff at patuyuin muna ng 45 days.. sa ngayon nakaka 1 week palang ako.. ganun ba talaga katagal yun para maging mirror finish or pwede na kahit 30 days lang? tsaka normally diba ibubuff muna ng isang beses tapos patutuyuin tapos ibabalik after nung curing time tapos ibubuff nila ulit para kumintab at magmirror finish? thanks

    WBR,
sir Innova_Boy* There a great possibility it has lack of curing time at the same time small amount of topcoat was applied.. if they try to make some liha again plus buffing, lalong mawawala yung topcoat..

sobrang tagal naman ng 45 days.. usually 5 days is the maximum pag hindi oven bake or yung mainit talaga para kapit yung pintura and topcoat.. pero 45 days grabe na yun.

does that mean that let dry first before applying another coat? so basically there's no long term effect ito sa car paint finish, meaning this will not happen again say after 6 months??

:D sir! if u like a very glossy talga ung outcome... use a poly urathane paints. kaso may kamahalan nga lang.. ordinary paints is not much that glossy..

and di po nid ng days bago i buff, ang problema lang kc kung manipis yung topcoat na nilagay or panget ung ginamit na paints panget outcome....

if i'm not mistaken, ang tawag ng mga pintor dyan ay nag-la-labong ang pintura. normal ata yan sa mga bagong pintang sasakyan. which is why karamihan ng mga paintshops will advise you not to have your car waxed within 30 days after getting it painted.

why it happens: ang explanation sa akin ng dalawang pintor (different paintshops) and dalawang detailers (different detailing shops) ay sumisingaw pa daw ang solvent ng pintura. in effect, nag-se-settle pa daw ang pintura.

solution: kelangan lang talagang i-buff uli.

this happened to my car when i had it washed over. within a month, naglabong siya. they just buffed it again. now, its been over a year and okay pa naman ang pintura.

Agree. Tsaka may natural top coat ang mga pintura..... Nawawala nga lang ito over time.... Magandang ibabad sa arawan ang sasakyan at pag "tumigas" na ang pintura, tsaka mo pa-buff (bule yata ang tawag ng iba)....

Mga bossing pasali naman. I was a little bit worried when I read this thread. I was thinking hindi kaya mangyari sakin yung nangyari ke Innova Boy. So I did what the owner of the shop told me. There, I was watching while the painter wet sand the car. After few hours sinabihan ako na iwan ko na yung oto at balikan kinabukasan. Pagbalik ko kinabukasan ok na yung oto at parang walang nangyari, makinis na makinis na yung part na pininturahan. In fact super glossy yung part na pininturahan nila. The shop owner told me that in their shop they only use polyurethane paint. My question is hindi kaya minadali yung trabaho? Mangyari rin kaya sakin yung nangyari ke InnovaBoy na after a week hindi na kasingganda yung paint when I first saw it? TIA.

why my car newly paint panel is not glossy anymore??
